Nah, he's set to play for NZ A in the warm up games leading to the ODI's against Pakistan. I expect him to back for the ODI leg of the UAE tour and it's not like Guptill and Neesham have closed the door shut on him either.

No he hasn't. He was awesome in List A games, but his efforts for Essex in first class cricket were pretty average. For large parts of the season he was being out-scored by Hamish Marshall.

I guess I've been misled media reports here, regardless if he's been average in first class county games, he should go alright on our flat wickets at home.

I figured the test would depress me, and that pages of Blocky foaming at the mouth about Ish Sodhi and Neil Wagner would not help my mood. With the game almost gone and my emotions back in check I figured I would drift by just in case I missed anything of actual interest. And the answer to that is "no".

There was a good bit about Rahat Ali making Southee and Boult look like trundlers, and NZ doing an India and getting that worst of all worlds batsman, Mohammad Hafeez, back in form.

I'm just happy it wasn't Craig. When you have $10 at 80:1 on someone to top score in the first innings and then get run out, then top score second innings, you're gonna have a bad time.
