It would be hilarious if McCullum's high score record was broken by Williamson in this match, considering Crowe held it for over 20 years.

why are boult and southee not able to pick wickets here int he UAE ??
they have performed well in similar conditions in India and sri Lanka

Slows down the game, wastes time etc. Not 100% on the laws, but don't batsmen and bowlers need a decent reason to pull out from a shot/ball. Also could you imagine if bowlers pulled out every time they didn't land perfectly. As a one off i don't mind it, but if Talha was to do it again, i would want the umpires to at least give a warning.
If he goes ahead and bowls the no-ball don't you think more time will be wasted?

With a declaration perhaps not all that far away Dan could well be playing his last test innings here, maybe they wanted to give him a chance to make something of it?
No reason at all to declare today, and prior to lunch tomorrow would be impatient
