Great stuff from Pakistan. Shows what a bunch of practice games including one against quality opponents can do in a big tour. I gave them no chance before the first few warm ups and they didn't exactly dominate those either. Happy to be proven wrong but it's still early days I suppose.

Early days certainly but the most impressive thing is that an attack sans Yasir Shah bowled out an opposition. Don't remember the last time Pakistan took all 10 wickets without a contribution from a spinner.

Was just thinking as I've been told I'm capable of at times.

But I want to complain about Buttler again. It seems to me a guy like that playing at 7 has only one use, piling on more runs when the top order have already had a bash. But it's the top order that's the problem, not Bairstow and Stokes screwing the pooch when they do. I imagine Ed Smith was thinking "Man I'd love to see us 6/40 one day and then Jos comes in and plays an innings so good every county player desperate for a gig will be grabbing nooses before play ends."

Ok I feel like the Buttler debate is a few days old. This was the one 'radical/modern' move made by this new selection panel a few weeks ago and it already created a social media then. The real answer is pretty simple - They are desperate. Everyone sucks. Ballance, Vince are finished. Buttler is a name they are familiar with and recently his name was up with runs next to it. Pick Buttler.

I agree with the logic. How Ballance got picked for as long as he did I'll never understand. One glance at him try to face good bowling should be enough for anyone.

Another instance of an institution caught napping while technology evolves.

Asad Shafiq and Babar Azam recently started wearing them as part of their fitness regime as it helps them track their routine. They mentioned as much in recent interviews and it was done completely in the knowledge of the team management and coaching staff.

This is more an announcement rather than a confirmation.

ICC confirm smart watches are not permitted on the field of play

There is no way the ICC anti corruption lectures would have mentioned it in the list of prohibited items.
