Tbf, this is what Chappelli does, or attempts to do pretty much any time he commentates. It's actually kind of annoying.
Which Chappel? Literally never heard him do that. It's always how the Captain (almost always a non Australian) is totally ****, negative, defensive, conservative, reactive and how he should have done this and should have done that.

Ian. And yeah you're right. With him it's never "What's the captain doing here", it's always "What would I do if I was captain here", which is far less interesting and relevant to the match than the former.

Pakistan should be able to wrap up this match now, weather permitting.. big lead.

Exactly. And that's what I was saying. Bazir and Bishop here were actually analysing Misbah's fielding and telling us what Misbah is trying to achieve and what the strategy is. No criticism. Just educating an audience on the finer points of the game which is the job of a commentator.

Right .Azhar gets out trying to force the issue, chasing a wide delivery, now let's have a go at him for doing something 'unnatural' to him. Peak Ramiz.

Babar should not have been playing anyway. Just saw that they've got a guy averaging 47 in first-class cricket sitting on the sidelines. Nice way for selector to reward first class runs.

These catches are always not out for me. Every time one of these come around, the guys are always taking it after the bounce for me. Smith look a similar one in the IPL which I thought was not out as well.

Maybe I am biased because every time I take a catch like this, I use considerable help from the ground.

The soft signal thing is a joke, if you are going to the third umpire let him make his own decisions without any bias, no way that should have been out.

It's a good deal for the third umpire in particular. On a marginal call, that could go either way, it makes his job easier. I think it's fair enough tbh

Aren't we supposed to have the benefit of doubt thing just for the marginal calls? Anyway, that's just a transfer of blame from the third umpire to the system, besides from what I've seen a sizable number of times the soft signal is more of a random signal just because there is supposed to be one.

On a marginal call, the 3rd umpire should make his own decision, whatever it is.

Its a really tough one. He hasn't been awful whatsoever in test cricket and he has been pushed around the batting order. Ideally I'd have him at 6 and Shafiq at 3 but Asad and Arthur not keen on that. Not sure you can drop him after this test though with Younis and Misbah gone, I'd probably give him another series and then reconsider .
