Sri Lanka must be the capital of ****tiest test match pitches in the world, cement road after cement road. Little wonder Mahela has made so many runs at SSC.

Roads vs Pak make sense TBH. Their batsmen are rubbish even on roads as often as not. A stupid decision not to review YK on 21 cost SL otherwise Pak would probably not have crossed 300 even. SL need to bat out the entire day tomorrow now, get a lead of about 100 and hope the pitch cracks up on the last day.

Why talk of SSC when this test is at Galle? As I recall SA won the last game played here. Only 6 out of 23 matches at Galle have ended in draws.

Even at SSC, during the 2000s only 4 out of 18 ended in draws (with 7 innings victories). It's mostly a matter of bowlers not being able to use the conditions well. Although tbf can't expect bowlers to outbowl Murali.

Rehman has been disappointing, but Ajmal is also bowling a consistent bad ball surprisingly.. Too bad this is all for nothing though draw in the making.

Galle and Kandy are certainly not roads... they've generally offered assistance to good bowlers. It's only the SSC which is a total road. Can't say anything about this pitch though... haven't watched enough of the play.

It's flat, it was doing a bit early on day one but as the moisture dried it just got slow and flat, it's not turning much either because the pitch is holding together too well, this rain won't help either, but SSC is the only true road in SL

Not really, it's just that I feel these kind of matches end up becoming pointless affairs to pad the stats. It's probably more my perception than anything that I feel Sri Lankan and some Indian pitches don't provide for exciting contests in the slightest that I'm mildly pissed off.
