**Official** Pakistan in Sri Lanka 2012

SL is really a bad place to have a 20/20 WC, unless all the games are going to be played at the SSC. All other grounds are enormous, spin friendly, and is also conductive to swing at night. Par scores are going to be ~130-145, unless the wickets are flattened more.
Only good thing will be that IPL esque "half-hits-going-for-six", "close-eyes-and-slash" and "do-it-in-boundaries" won't work here. Some supreme fitness will be needed for running. On that note, it will show up class players from imposters and "couch potatoes". Excited about the change.

"Just been doing some quick checks on Statsguru and it looks like Pakistan have dominated India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh throughout their history in all formats, with the exception of T20s against India, which there has only been 2, both in the 2007 T20 world cup. Nothing new here.

It has always been common knowledge that historically speaking,Pakistan has had the upperhand over India in pure numbers.Srilanka were our favorite whipping boys along with New Zealand till they developed into a team to be reckoned with, had a period of slight dominance over us during the late 1990s and now we have the upper hand over them again.Bangladesh is everyone's whipping boy anyway.

In short Pakistan has been the best team from Asia for greater periods than any other team, primarily because of our battery of fast bowlers and ability to put in great performances outside of the continent earlier and longer than the other Asian teams.

actually Pakistan didn't have the upper hand over India (in ODIs) until that Miandad 6 in Sharjah.

Agree with the Misbah statement, but I think his 'dullness' is highlighted by the exlosive sentiments of Pakistan in general, as a team we are very hit and miss, and having a stalwart playing isn't the worst idea.

That is true, but not by the extent people would have you believe.

Uptil that very match,Pakistan and India had played 16 ODIs,Pakistan winning 7,India winning 8 with 1 ending as No Result. So it was all neck and neck. And after that match,Pakistan had a spell dominance which was only disturbed by some meaningless ( :p ) World Cup games. It was only during the Dhoni era that India started to actually dominate Pakistan.

Against SL, 1997 - 2003 period was the time when SL dominated Pakistan and India. It was not only Pakistan, they dominated everyone except Aussies and were on par with them time to time.

I think 95-99 would be the period where SL would have dominated Pakistan.....

99 onwards Pak were once again kicking SL butt
