I can't believe I ate the whole thing
So I completely missed that these two were called up because Latham has a fractured hand and Will Young is expecting to become a father for the first time

Are there no other left arm seamers who can come in for white ball games for Pak?
Mir Hamza. Wouldn't set the world on fire but he'd be a decent short term option. The highest wicket taker in National T20 this year was a left arm pacer as well. Shahab Khan. Might be too early for him though and the quality of that competition is middling to put it charitably.

Whatever it takes!!!
He can do a Bhuvi-lite job imo. He's done well in white ball whenever I've seen him. He'd get rekt on Auckland type pitches but he'd be more threatening with the new ball than current Shaheen.
Even in T20s? I get the feeling he can be got after very easily and you dont want to build a side with players who can only bowl in one phase of the game.

You may be right but it's worth trying anyway. Jahandad Khan definitely isn't the answer and he's a no rounder at this stage. If the play Rauf and Abbas Afridi then they're forced to bowl the other seamer out earlier anyway.

I guess sometimes its ok to look around coz you already know Rizwan's ceiling as well as Babar's. I actually think Haris can be good but he needs more exposure. If he is still failing after 10-15 games, by all means drop him but if you dont try now, you willl never know.

Not Terrible
4-1 while testing n00bs is better than 4-1 with proven frauds. The only series we won in 2024 was against Ireland. Losing less badly when you don't give your team a chance of winning at all isn't any better.

I think Shaheen's impotence is a bigger problem than previously anticipated. He's way too predictable now and not even swinging the new ball appreciably.
I do think a large problem in general is the revolving door for Pakistani bowlers and to an extent the middle order
