**Official** Pakistan in New Zealand (3 tests)

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
But you don't think he should be looking for a single or two whilst he holds up one end?
Oh, definitely, definitely. But I imagine he didn't want to take too many unnecessary risks, which may be due to inexperience or panicking, but he played a better innings than half the team so far.

Jesus ****ing Christ, and I banging my head up against a brickwall? I have already acknowledged McIntosh held up one end well, but when will somebody answer my question, instead of ***** coming in here and twisting what I'm saying to make me sound wrong. Yeah I know we have accepted that I don't know **** about cricket, but this is starting to drive me nuts.
Sorry dude, didn't mean to do that. I acknowledge your point, though :) I think I misread it.

McIntosh is rubbish, simple as that. I just prey to god he isn't playing when the Aussie's get here in March. I mean we'll probably get embarrased but not having him in the team will soften that a tad.

Flynn needs about 100 hours in front of a ball machine which is being aimed at the corridoor of uncertainty with John Wright standing behind the net telling him what to do after each delivery.

His defensive system (including leaving the ball) is not robust.

That said he is young and has an upside. We have no one else so I say keep playing him as well in the hope he will figure it out. I want him to go back to 6 though even though someone posted he has had more success at 3. This wish of mine won't happen though so I will root for him to come through at number 3.

in answer to the question should Mcintosh have taken some singles - yes this would have been helpful.

Wow!! what a turnaround by Aamer and Asif...terrific bowling!! Once again the bowlers have placed Pakistan in a very comfortable position from where the batsmen should win this match despite being so sloppy in the first innings. But then again, I cant hope too high as they failed to capitalise on their bowler's excellent work against Sri Lanka few months back at home!

Seeing as Flynn has been so incredibly rubbish for a while* and they seem determined to play him, give carte blanche to do what the hell he wants.

"Son, we have no one else, you can do what you want - so do it. Forget about technique or the possibility of being dropped. Forget about the hecklers in the stand, letting your team down or getting another tooth smacked out - cause you're here for the long-haul. Go out and have fun - and don't forget your helmet"

I agree with the McIntosh innings was crap crowd, just because everyone else failed doesn't make his innings anything above mediocre. As for Flynn I have never rated him, he is never going to be a good international player as his fc average of 33 after 50 games suggests. Give Broom a go I say, I may knock him in the OD format but he does deserve a shot.

some poor shots and some brain explosions (fulton) from the nzers but I think we should pay credit to the Pakistani quicks who were brilliant today, especially Aamer.

Anyway, in for a thrilling climax tommorow - I honestly cant pick it. Kiwis need another good day from Bond.

by the way, Peter Fulton is an idiot.

Every fan claims their country has a "trademark collapse"

One of my pet hates (not having a direct go at you Craig).

India, Pakistan, England, NZ, West Indies fans always say "damn, typical *insert their team* collapse"

Hmm yeah. I don't think you can be too critical of New Zealand here. They really applied themselves but Pakistan didn't give them an inch. Asif and Aamer barely bowled a bad ball between them.

When Vettori came out he'd obviously decided that scratching around wasn't working and he had to take the initiative. But it didn't come off and he picked out midwicket early. Ross Taylor's run-out is looking like a key moment. Nevertheless, they've scratched their way to a decent lead and should still be favourites to win the game. New Zealand are notorious for not finishing the game off in situations like these, but with Shane Bond in the team...

At least he ground out an innings. He's struggled in this match but he may hit back with a century in the next match. Really disliking the negativity in this thread towards our batsmen. Yes, I know we've collapsed, but come on, you have to be supportive at least some of the time.
