**Official** Pakistan in New Zealand (3 tests)

Back on and back off 11 runs and 1 wicket later. Well that was worthwhile then.

I don't see the point in Elliott hanging around scoring at the rate of 20 runs from his 83 balls. Hopefully tomorrow morning he plays a few more shots.

I didn't watch Mcintosh bat. Just kept tabs through cricinfo. I mean good on him for getting 31 in a test match in difficult circumstances. But a SR of 23 is terrible.
For me I am holding this inning against him rather using it as a point in his favour.
I will apologise if we get up and win this game.

Another 20-30 runs and its really even I tend to think, but Pakistan ahead currently.

Will be interesting to see what happens with McIntosh, Flynn and Fulton's positions in the team. Seems unlikely that they'll last the whole series.

Bookies have NZ favourites.
Our trademark collapse. How do we do it?
Every fan claims their country has a "trademark collapse"

One of my pet hates (not having a direct go at you Craig).

India, Pakistan, England, NZ, West Indies fans always say "damn, typical *insert their team* collapse"

.
They're only on top in the respect that they currently have momentum. The pitch looks to be breaking up a little & ball seem to be going through the top on occasions, so it won't be easy to chase 260odd in 80 overs.

I reckon it's about 50-50. If NZ didn't have Bond, then I'd say Pakistan were odds-on

Just have to say, loving the Flynn hate here. Yeah, he's had a **** Test, but does does he deserve to be dropped after one poor match? Maybe, if he'd done something similar in the previous Tests leading up to this, but he hasn't, so almost on that alone he should be given at least one more Test.
Personally, I thought we had found someone who would handle the number 3 spot pretty well. We certainly know he can fight, and I think he is better served up the order while Ryder is better down the order (for those suggesting he should go back to 3).

Flynn's 5 most significant scores at 6: 49, 49, 39*, 35*, 29*
At 3: 95, 67, 57, 50, 33

Ryder at 3: 91, 39*, 38, 30, 24
At 5: 201, 102, 89, 59*, 57

Flynn's run of scores (overall) not as impressive as Ryder's, since he's not as good a batsman as he, but I think if he is persisted for a little bit longer (certainly more than the first home test of a season after just about coming in from the cold) the faith will be repaid. I'd go as far to suggest he'll crack 3 figures in the next Test. And if he fails miserably and its clear he's not up to it, then OK, drop him.

Also, really frustrating being a fan and defendant of Fulton when he goes about his business like this, but ftr I think he should be given another Test also. Save a massive score from Elliott, he's technically the weakest of the specialist bats and isn't doing any part time bowling. Swap him for Broom. [/broken record]

flynn and mcintosh hate are ridiculous. mcintosh batted for a long long time. without him we might have collapsed earlier.just pull ur heads in ok.

Yes, good on McIntosh for staying in there, but it is the lack of scoring that has most people's gripe. Sure he might not be hitting them straight out of the bat, but why not look for singles to keep the team (and his own) score moving along. We need as many runs as possible to make the chase harder for Pakistan.

Greg, Fulton and co. have one more Test to save themselves.
Phew. Regardless, if they were under threat of being dropped they shouldn't be. Not a fan of the posts in here recently regarding Flynn, is a shorter version.

The guy made the second highest score of the innings (out of only 3 to make double figures)! I don't think the concern here is his slow batting (31 from 136 ftr), I think it's the three of the four people who got out before him for 0 runs from 16 deliveries.

Jesus ****ing Christ, and I banging my head up against a brickwall? I have already acknowledged McIntosh held up one end well, but when will somebody answer my question, instead of ***** coming in here and twisting what I'm saying to make me sound wrong. Yeah I know we have accepted that I don't know **** about cricket, but this is starting to drive me nuts.
