Depending on how bad the light was I would have been tempted to stay out there on 99.

But I guess with the new rules about the light it must be quite dark at the moment.

Gutted for Dan, but he had already got the job done for us. Reckon either just declare and have a fresh start tomorrow or let Bond have a slog and then declare. Would the 10 extra runs be worth a potential brusing for the opening bowlers?

juice or no juice Bond will pick up the openers cheaply so its always handy to keep extra runs in the bag.

really loved Guptil and Taylor knocks the conditions were tough the bowlers were fresh and bowling really well, I thought Taylor played one oif the better test innings in recent times deserved a 100 more then Dan.

Taylor is my favourite batsman and second favourite player.

Taylors knock was more valuable than Dan's because he came in when we were in strife. Not saying that things were rosy for Dan either.

How far away is Ryder from being fit again? As I said earlier, because if he was, then Flynn should be dropped back to Northern Districts. At least Fulton made a start and just needs to work on his confidence and his foot work and he will be fine IMO. I have no idea why Elliott can score runs in ODI cricket, but not at Test level.

I remember when Irfan Pathan came in, a lot of people were talking him up as the next Wasim Akram, and look were Pathan is now (ie not in the Pakistan team).

Neither do I ever see him playing for us.
