This is why it's not always so bad batting slowly for survival early in the day, can capitalise later when the bowlers are tired ...71 runs off the last ten from these two

Hah! McCullum is so mental. Still on a flat track at a small ground he can still influence a test match.

disagree... positive play is always better ... it should have been 102-2 when taylor came to bat not 82-2

We should have had a fcuking massive lead though.

Should've picked Sinclair.
Dont know what you are complaining about as thee 2 are doing very well and the lead should be more than handy by the time they're finished

Tbf to Flem he did say that 50 minutes ago, this partnership was minimal then.

We'll agree to disagree, just think their conservative approach earlier has made it easier for McCullum & Vettori late in the day. I suppose they could have been a tad more positive though

Disappointed that I'm going to miss the rest of the Test match from tomorrow onwards. I just had to take a week's work in the Queensland Outback.

yeah sure .. i was more suggesting just rotating the strike... thats basically what mccullum and vetttori did to first unsettle the fielding team.. and now they are making the most of it.. thats all i wanted the opening group to do..

You can do that if we have good opening pair. With the pair or opening bats we have for this series, its just not possible. Every time, they tried to do that in this series, they failed. What they were able to do today is; atleast make these PAK bowlers somewhat tired & unfresh

Imagine how good this would be if the top order hadn't collapsed? The middle order (bar Flynn who will be swapped for Ryder I suspect) looks good but the top order is pretty meh. Watling is in his first test and he looked good, Guptill has been style with little substance in tests and McIntosh is coming off as a bit of a flat track bully.

Taylor
Ryder
Vettori
McCullum

Looks excellent, but the top three is a big unknown at best and a fail at worst.
