Because Cumming wants to be one of the cool kids, and despite the fact that Richardson probably being our absolute best batsman at working out how to take his game to the test level, and having a systemic process for doing so, it's vogue within NZ cricket circles to pretend like he's a silly man who was lucky rather than skilled.

Basically because we lack man-management, every single all rounder we play is a watered down Jesse Ryder, when the real thing could still be playing test cricket had we had a half decent management structure.
