***Official*** Pakistan in New Zealand 2016/17

Blocky

He's nibbling it off the seam, getting a little bit through the air, bowling at decent pace but it's the length. He's bowling a great length and he's at the batsman so frequently that those little nibbles off the seam become far more dangerous.

It's Graeme Aldridge-esque.

The other thing he's doing is not giving the easy singles on the pads every few balls that all the other bowlers have done.

Need to get Misbah soon.

Misbah is a better batsman than Younis, he was just unfortunate to not get a lucky break early in his career. Had he played 100 Tests for Pakistan, he would have played a lot more meaningful overseas innings in difficult conditions compared to Younis. Far better against pace and miles better in Limited Overs as well. Comfortably the better player overall.

International Vice-Captain
de Grandhomme now has better best test bowling figures than Anderson (4/69) and Neesham (3/42).

Take that, pretenders!

Any word on the conditions and pitches?

New Zealand certainly favourites for the first test because I don't think Pakistan are as well prepared and as fit for this series as they were for the England series. They treated the England series like the most important series of their lives and the results showed in the first test win. But usually Pakistan almost always start very badly in an overseas series, losing the first test heavily often.

If it's seaming wicket and Pakistan bat first, this could be decided on the first day itself. I then expect Pakistan to regroup and bounce back in the second, making us rue the lack of a second test.
