Holding came down VERRRY strongly not just on Hair but ICC for the double standards in dealing with some teams. Extremely hard hitting remarks by the West Indian for India Today.

Look Players from all the international countries especially bowlers alter the condition of the ball.. we have seen it... All spinners wipe the ball for it to spin more ... we have seen panesar ... kumble .. warne ... harbhajan and many more ..pretty much all of them have .. I mean that is a strategy now for the ball to spin more or less ...I mean by accusing pakistani players of ball tampering when they did not even do is ridiculous ...

32 plus photo cameras have no slight evidence of any player tampering .... and how could hair accuse pakistan with no proff no evidence ... just by looking at the ball .. I mean he did not even warn Inzamam .. he simply changed the ball ...

I certainly think that this is a disrespect to the world # 2 team with world class players who are masters at cricket ... then when they delayed the match for 10 minutes he removes the bail what nonsense is this ... he should have consult the managers anf other officals ... He destroyed a great match that pakistan was pounding England .... even with younis khan's controversial OUT .... I mean asif always performs brilliant gains england and pretty much everyone .... last match he played against england he got 8 wickets ... I mean he is not cheating .... neither is anyone else.... if they did cheat they would not protest and take it to heart ...

I mean it was a mess what hair did .. you think pakistan would cheat when they are dominating?

England need to face the facts pakistani bowlers were injured (shoiab akhtar , Naved-ul-hasan, Asif) now that they have recovered they are ready to destroy england .. so Hair brings this nonsense to give and impression that pakistan is cheating ... I mean its ridiculous ...

Inzamam simply protested so now he is accused of ball tampering ... becuz he is the captain what is this nonsense ... there is unecessary pressure being applied on pakistan team ...

People read my previous comments ... also and then tell me what you think .. ICC needs to wake up and see the light!

Am I the only one who notices that some officials treat certain teams better than others ? some umpires will have a friendly chat or word with some players but not other's. Shane warne can grumble and mumble and go on & on when he does not get a decision and the umpire will still indulge him with an explanation while Warne caverliarly recovers his shades from the umpires hat. Vass or perhaps an asian player gets a batsman plumb and more often that not gets a stern cold NOT OUT .....

For example take the now infamous incident between Hair and Inzy.
Hair Checks the ball with Billy and when Inzy walks towards them totally dismissas him (or dismissively walks away) takes absolutely no notice or effort to explain the situation and walks towards the 4th umpire who brings the reserve balls. Inzy being the Captain of the team involved Has to again walk up to them to get a handle of whats going on. Hair's explanation seems short and sharp after which he asks peterson to select a ball. Does anyone believe even in their wildest dreams that if the tables were turned the attitude of the umpires will remain constant? If their is such a person/people they are living in la la land.

My guess was Inzy probably was shellshocked not sure for certain if one of his team mates has commited an offense. He probably waited for tea just to verify with all his team if they have done anything questionable before making a stand which I think is the right thing to do. There is no point huffing and puffing not knowing absolutely the situation.
I agree.

Hair .... Just when you think it cannot get any worse, he goes and does something to top himself ! what a "drama queen" ..... I think he is suffering from a psychological condition known as " Paranoid Schizophrenia" characterized predominantly by megalomania and delusions of persecution & grandeur .:D
I didn't know the pressure was getting to him that badly.

Or maybe he put his life on a surefire victory for his favourite team. As bizarre as it sounds, it does happen....

What's there to explain?

Inzy- What's going on?

Hair-'I think you tampered with the ball so i'm changing it'

Hair-'And btw, i'm white so obviously the only reason i'm changing the ball is because i hate every black people'

He's not that wrong. I strongly feel ball doctoring is like drug taking in cycling : everybody is doing it but there is a global omerta about it.

if we draw parrallels with cycling :
Many years ago, drugs were meant to be an individual matter concerning exotic riders from remote countries (the Ouzbek Djamolhidine Abdouzhaparov who became the shame of cycling but well... he was Ouzbek so that explained a lot...)
Then when it was clear it was some sort of widespread cancer, the containement strategy was to find some countries where cheating was generalised ant thus had to be eradicated: Eastern European countries became the obvious scapegoat (think Pakistan in cricket).
But history proved it was a general disease, that had nothing to do with certain individuals or certain countries, as was proved by the latest Tour de France.

Like in cycling :
Commentators are former players who know what happen in the field and have no interest to make it public, as maybe they did the same in their playing days
The public doesn't want to know 'coz it would rub off some of the magic of the sport

Conclusion : I'm pretty sure the ball was doctored but it's not a big deal. Hair and Inzamam made it a big deal

Can you explain me why so many people are getting on FRAZ ? It's like you want him banned again. Although I don't share some of his opinions I think he is a real asset to CW and I'm a saddened by the reaction of quite a few here.

From my post a few days ago:

And when I last checked all the Aussie "greats" are slobbering in line for Indian commercials and coaching jobs to grab some money.

With Hair 'demanding' $500K and Speed 'defending' him (this is so SICK) - I rest my case... :(

I guess this has to be, the most farcical and dirty mess I have seen happen to cricket.

I thought Hair released a statement saying he stands by his decision and will want to continue umpiring? or something to that effect. What happened? All the love for the game and law gone just like that?

Any Pakistani Cricket fan would now want to question his ulterior motives at the Oval. Or for that matter, all controversies surrounding the man's umpiring career.

Can or will the charges on Inzamam be lifted or atleast reviewed in the light of THIS development?

You would think ! And people complain that I am being 'extreme" on this board. And I can't believe I have to keep stating that I am not Muslim so people don't think I am biased. Then they say you must be Asian.

Hair is a racist pig and his on field bullying of Asian players is just plain ridiculous. And any one who does not see that - or defends it - is blind or racist.

I am so outraged at Speed's comments defending Hair that I could just..er, pull my hair out :****ed:

I cannot and will not go as far to call him a racist.

Speed has made a very Loud statement by making these letters public. The 'defence' as you call it, is merely diplomatic trash.

PS. JustTool Try being reasonably passionate and you might get a better response. :)

I was virtually *ROFLMAO* at that news..

The paragon of fairness and justice, the champion of fairplay and no-nonsense, sticker for the strict rules of the game... wants 500K .. *lol*

I say pay the fat racist and good riddance. cricket will better off without him..

I'm not sure I agree with the 'racist' spray here, I'm not sure it isn't people's emotion getting in the way.

Yes, he's a greedy sod but that doesn't make him a racist. Can't disagree with the 'fat' though. :p

I must admit I cannot corroborate that he is a bonafide racist as I have no proof , its unlikely that a video will emerge with Hair wearing a pointy white hood and ceremonial robes just as it seems unlikley that a video will emerge where a pakistan bowler was caught scrtaching the ball in the fourth test.
