I don't think he's been officially ruled out "completely". I think Shoaib is still hoping to return at some point in the tour, though it looks unlikely.Jono said:Apparently he's been ruled out completely now right?
Man, no Jones, Shoaib and possibly Freddy. Getting ridiculous.
Well Kaneria is on cricinfo talking about how he's ready to become the new strike-bowler since shoaib has been dropped from the tour, so i don't think they are expecting him back anytime soon.Fusion said:I don't think he's been officially ruled out "completely". Yeah I'm reconsidering buying the package for this tour here in the states. It costs $170. Last year I paid $100 dollars for the Pak-Eng series and got more than my money's worth.Jono said:Apparently he's been ruled out completely now right?

I don't know exactly who plays for what team, but the following have played in the past year; Asif, Rana Naved, Salman Butt, Younis Khan, Imran Farhat, Sami, Kaneria (?).Timewell said:Do any of the Pakistani international cricketers actually play or are affiliated with a club in their domestic league (if so, who and where!)?
Obviously, they are all 'spotted' there but I think it's a bit stupid them not turning out for their club once - even Flintoff will play a couple of games for Lancashire in a season! Where is the match practice? I know the concerns will be with injury but to be fit for cricket, you have to play it!
That is a *huge* blow to the Pakistanis.GeraintIsMyHero said:Pakistan woes pile up
Pakistan are showing that they are a passionate side with their attitude to this series. First Shoaib now Rana, this series will end up a bloody A tour. It would be the one I have tickets for
STOP GETTING INJURED PEOPLE
OK, let's try.GeraintIsMyHero said:....
Just did that to remind myself how to do it! When you click Insert link obviously you're asked for the address. It'll come up in your text box twice, one in brackets, and one between the closed and open brackets. Simply overwrite that one. If that makes sense.
GeraintIsMyHero said:Ah right, I see what you mean. There should be all sorts of icons above your text box, starting with a B and finishing with something saying php. In the middle there is like a globe (I think). Click that to insert link
I hate the "everyone says/thinks .." stuff, because it's patently not true. What he means is his mates think he should play and the England squad haven't got the heart to tell him to stop moaning. Beyond that, his gripe about having to bowl at the start of the innings is just daft when you look at what others in world cricket can do with the new ball. Yes he bowls well at the death, but the new ball has been wasted on him for the last couple of years.GeraintIsMyHero said:Glad to be of help
So out of interest, what do you think of Gough's comments?
As long as it's over a decent period of time, it's not the worst way to evaluate bowlers' performances. tbf he hasn't been too expensive, and I do accept that he'd be more economical in the last 10 then others that have played, but if he's going to open then he needs to take more wickets with the new ball. But really I just don't like the very public moaning, irrespective of whether he's been harshly treated by the selectors.GeraintIsMyHero said:I think the one fair point he made was that the media just look at his overs and runs. It's not exclusive to the media, it's something we all do
Quoted so that it can be shown I keep up my once a year average.wpdavid said:I should have mentioned that Marc and I briefly discussed this on the SL thread, and Marc made some completely valid points about why Gough was talking out of his rear.
