Well they can hardly do any worse than the others.Scaly piscine said:Pretty scary stuff looking at the ODI career wickets totals for the England team:
Collingwood 48
Clarke 11
Mahmood 8
Lewis 6
Bell 6
Dalrymple 5
Trescothick 4
KP 1
Broad 1
With a few exceptions, every crop we produce seems to be as inept as the last at ODI cricket. From the late 80s to around '97 we were excellent at it but poorer at the Tests comparitively, now it's t'other way roond.Scaly piscine said:Pretty scary stuff looking at the ODI career wickets totals for the England team:

Good going StraussyPratyush said:Okay I could understand Strauss charging early on when things weren't going England's way. Not the shot which took his wicket. Unnecessary.
While "Lost" never crossed my mind, I was half-seriously thinking that it was a time-saving operation to save Pakistan from unnecessarily using all 50 overs when battingwpdavid said:I'm trying to work out why Inzi chose to bat 2nd under lights, and the only reason I can think of is that he fancies his attack to skittle England quickly so Pak can be back at the hotel in time for "Lost". Am I wrong?
meh...bout right i'd say but otherwise....264 - 8Pedro Delgado said:259-9
Thats depatable i feel, yea when KP came in South Africa he was superb at #5 but in a full-strength England ODI side i think he should bat in the top 4.Barney Rubble said:Recently he's been batting four, which means he's only been in during the middle overs - apparently the selectors don't realise that he's far more dangerous at the end of an innings. He needs to move back to five, but due to the fact that Paul Collingwood's usefulness as an ODI player is rapidly diminishing, we can't really afford to do that unless we're going to bring in another top order batsman.
Always brings a smile to my day when you post Aussie, as I assume you've just finished school/college, which means my day at work is nearly overaussie said:Now that KP is gone England will do well to get up to a 260-270 score.

Funny old game.
Dunno what the answer is.
Batting average of 36 = still not fantastic for a number five. He should be expecting a few not outs from that position, which should raise it a bit. It's acceptable, but in an ideal world he'd be batting number seven in England's ODI side, for mine.aussie said:Thats depatable i feel, yea when KP came in South Africa he was superb at #5 but in a full-strength England ODI side i think he should bat in the top 4.
On Collingwood i can't see how his usefulness as ODI is rapidly diminishing, his form since the natwest series last summer where he was very good hasn't been poor.
