Stating the obvious it may be, but it was the batting that cost us there. We were never realistically going to be able to defend such a meagre total after Afridi had gone agricultural on us.

Players in the comfort zone? All the worthwhile contributions came from players with something to prove & the failures were from those who're fixtures in our ODI team.

Terribly sad indictment of us as a one day side, when a twenty year old debutant is are most potent bowler.
It's just a slog-fest though isn't it, a good vehicle for uber sloggers like Afridi.

Roll on the winter...

The team today was the one that should have played the test matches. :(
Shoaib Malik
Mohammad Hafeez
Younis Khan
Mohammad Yousuf
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Kamran Akmal
Shahid Afridi
Abdul Razzaq
Naved-ul-Hasan
Shoaib Akhtar
Mohammad Asif

Maybe so but it's a cracking one day outfield.

Here's a prediction - he won't be fit for the first Ashes Test. You heard it here first.....
Not the biggest admirer of Harmsion but that would be a huge blow, when you consider that Hoggard could feasibly be cannon fodder after ten overs in Aus.

Absolute worst-case scenario, we're looking at Hoggard-Mahmood-Broad-Panesar in Brisbane. That's if Flintoff, Harmison, Anderson, Jones, Giles and Plunkett are all out.

Ouch. :(

Yes that isnt going to get us 20 wickets. Even if you add Flintoff to that and its still a bit worrying.

I think Tremlett may be called up as a replacment now which i have mixed feelings about, i would be very pleased for him but Hampshire really need him for the rest of the season.

I can't understand why he's been overlooked all summer. He's bowling well. I guess maybe the selectors are waiting until his injury troubles are behind him? Who knows.

Yes i think they are just waiting for him to prove his long term fitness which he hasnt really done yet. I suppose the other option would be Kirtley following his great performance on saturday which he backed up today.

Asif's bowling was again quite good. That Pakistan ODI team is most certainly a force, that's for sure. Still missing Shoaib Malik too aren't they?
