out of his misery in any case, worst innings i've seen in a long while, 2(12) with the two runs coming from a delivery in which he got bowled.

now he's replaced by the offspinning clone of himself.

Rameez Raja: There was a strong wind blowing. That may have been the reason for the drop.
Bumble: It was as easy as it gets. 99 out of 100, you would catch it.

I don't think it is a huge concern yet for England. Trescothic hasn't been in form and trying to hit out to get runs and as a result not playing it safe on balls he might other wise.

Saying that, Trescothic hasn't looked comfortable in this inning but at least he has got some runs which is always good.

Afridi did start off as a spinner and it was incidental he made a 100 in his second match. I always think he never gave enough attention to his bowling. He wouldn't have become a great spinner but he could do a bit more useful job than he does. Woolmer brought him in seeing this as well though obviously and he has always used Afridi well..

Decent last over from Yardy to get us up (ha!) to 144/7, but at least 25 short on this pitch for mine.

I think our batters (those who stayed around longer than the odd ball I mean) were looking to use too much premeditation in their shots. Pakistan were clearly wise to it & the bowlers followed the batters around the crease. Very disappointing stuff from KP, Strauss & Colly too. Ripped the heart out of our batting & we never really recovered.

Have to give credit to Pakistan, no weak links in their bowling.
