Take the World Cup then. Wayne Rooney gets sent off, depriving us of our best player in slightly dubious circumstances & he insisted any contact with Carvalho's nuts was accidental. His being sent off therefore brands our best player a cheat & a liar. Did we forfit the game? Refuse to come out for extra time?

Take your time...

No his right, English players have immunity from such criticism. Evident in are football side where Joe Cole seemingly dives and fakes injury constantly, yet when Didier Dog-**** does it, commentators and fans suddenly take the moral high ground.

Should have, save us the humiliation of losing on penalties again.

Doesn't anyone remember how badly Gough got pummled last time he was playing ODIs?

I don't think he got dropped because of strictly come dancing, i think he got dropped because he couldn't do it anymore.

Good point...

Can't believe they've called up Gough. The ODI team is in such a bad shape I don't think they can afford to include a specialist death bowler.

Good call on Michael Yardy. Ever since his exploits last summer I've kept him on my "might end up playing international cricket" list. Yay me.

I think the problem is with Yardy that he's playing against a few batsmen who's main talent in ODIs seem to be bowling off-spin, and atm, Dalrymple quite rightly seems to have that stop for the forseeable furture.

Great to see the Dazzler back, his experience will be needed in this stuggling ODI bowling line-up. Coming down to the world cup i dont think Gough should be opening the bowling though, he would be the perfect 4th seamer behind Harmison/Flintoff/Anderson & the best death bowling option along with Freddie.

They said Chapple is not being risked even though he played for Lancashire recently because he has some injury, i would liked to see him play. Haven' t seen much of Yardy so can't say much but if they were looking for another spinner/all-rounder what about James Middlebrook?. Finally what the hell is Rikki Clarke doing there, when Bopora has been doing so well for Essex?

when he was dropped the argument was he was bowling poorly with the new ball & not doing the job up front, but on most occassions he was still bowling very well at the death.

For England's sake hopefully he can do well in this series & down in Australia before the world cup because beyond Harmison/Flintoff/Anderson, with Jones injured i dont have that much confidence in the other seamers as ODI bowlers at this stage.

Still no place for Tremlett which seems bizarre, especially when Gough is called up.

Here's hoping Gough plays and is battered out of sight, thus ending him.
I assume Tremlett is not being included because he is yet to prove his fitness, he has bowled well this season but has played very few games. If it is not due to fitness then his non inclusion is absurd, I may be slighlty biased but he is streets ahead of the likes of Mahmood.

Tremlett, Mascarenas and Bopara are unlucky to miss out IMO.

Gosh has this thread descending into cricket chat after 75 pages of controversy:D

Did anyone name a composite side for the Test series? I think I will anyway.

Strauss
Bell
Younis
Mo Yo
Inzy
Pietersien
Read
Umer Gul
Harmison
Mohammed Asif
Panesar

Only one opener, middle-order dominance, was the way of the series.

Tremlett hasn't played much this season & probably is only now getting himself back together with the 6 for he took last week. Even though he didn't make this squad he is surely not out of contention if certain people fail.

Your idea of Gough is foolish, England have a whole set og young bowlers in Mahmood, Plunkett, Bresnan, Ali who have come in and haven't looked up to scratch in the ODI side, but there is Gough who even though he has lost his potency with the new ball as was shown during the natwest series last year, still used to bowl well in the closing overs & he has continued that form for Essex.

As i mentioned before for the world cup England's best 3 seamers will be Flintoff/Harmison/Anderson & with Jones not likely to feature if Gough can do well in this series & down in Australia i don't see why it would be a problem to pick him.

The truth about the cricket crisis!

Hair ruined pakistan's victory once again...in the third pakistan was going to win again when hair ruined it with yousuf and younis khan's run outs.... 2nd test ruined because of the messed up pitch....

Hair is the problem with ICC

He is a racist individual who favour's the white coloured nations...

Muralitarin and shoaib have been both bothered by this umpire... for no logical reason.....

he took off the bail right after pakistan refused to come out he should've got a clear message from the management first

Pakistan was ready 30 mins later ...and pakistan was in a wining position yet hair gave the match to england ....

Pakistan did the right thing standing up for justice ... when they were winning in pure art they were accused of cheating ..when no evidence at all!

32 advanced cameras installed no evidence was caught .... I mean hair did not even warn Inzamam of anything...

last series last series inzamam was stump when he was trying to stop the ball that was not pitched properly ... and he was given out ....

younis khan got out in pakistan first inning in the 4rth test this series by a nick from the glove when he was not even ready.

Pakistan being a better side has devestatingly and unfairly lost the series that they should ve dominated with the skills and the talent they have.

Three world class batsmen with useful successful openers (mohammad Hafeez and Imran Farhat) with hundreds and amzaing bowling attack. Asif who took eight wicket last time he played england 5 this time and has a huge record against england and he just entered international cricket..his length, seam, and both swing and pace is what makes his one of the best...along with shoaib akhtar (world fastest bowler), and umar gul (fast tall seam) the most successful pakistani bowler this series...nevertheless allrounder abdul razzaq (useful allrounder) and shahid afridi (master of sixes)....and last but not the least danish Kaneria the master of leg spin who hasn't been very credited for the amazing bowling he has done! Shahid Nazir the youngster who has reserved his spot in the team due to his seam and pace attack...shoiab malik the world third best allrounder was also not playing...Arshad khan and mustaq ahmed the key bowlers in the harsh english conditions...not to forget the unsuccessful but top pace bwoler Mohammad Sami...

Faisal Iqbal the talented youngster who hit a century this series is not to be forgotten along with Salman Butt.

Everyone already knows what Kamran akmal can do at when he gets it going!

My Response to the 4th test Match tragedy at the Oval in August 2006

My Response to the 4th test Match tragedy at the Oval in August 2006

First of all there are 32 skysports cameras and not one in this age caught any players tampering.

Pakistani players manager coach all said Pakistan team did not tamper.

Even if Hair felt Pakistan tampered why did he not warn Inzamam-ul-haq.

Hair appointed younis khan mohammad yousuf unfairly run out many times, Murali Mulitaritarin was accused by hair, he is simply too bias with Asian cricket team.

Pakistan as everyone knew was expected to win just look at the scorecard. but England won unfairly.....

Kevin Pieterson was edged and caught by shahid nazir yet hair did not call it.

Hair is an unfair powerful cricket destroyer.

How could he do such a thing to such a dominating talented side...

Pakistan before this match were rated 2nd best in cricket after Australia now they are 3rd simply after this test, which they were about to win....

I mean Pakistan won against England last series, India in test series (ODI lost due to numerous vital injuries), West Indies test and ODI series they won and before that they beat South Africa... I mean this team is a world-class team... How could you take that from them and make the world unjust believe they are cheating when they were miles away from cheating…. even the England team is supporting them....

Pakistani player were ready to play after and they came out... hair did not return it is his fault..Pakistan never said they forfeit they simply had 15 minutes delay...

I mean Pakistan's legend Waqar Younis is the one who invented reverse swing..

I mean the ball did not even have a scratch.. Nothing it was just rough...

After the England batsmen chose the new ball which obviously would have no swing at the start and it was to the batsmen's advantage.. Kevin Pieterson was only hitting those 2 sixes and some fours due to the new ball

Pakistan were dominating in every part of the game ... after bowling England out for 173 Pakistan replied with 504 runs despite Younis's khan controversial out by the gloves.... Pakistan would’ve made 600 with Younis and 700 if Inzamam turned it on because they were in great form...

Mohammad Yousuf record of 5th runs by batsmen in series
After hitting a double century and then almost another double century plus consecutive hundreds...

Imran farhat and Mohammad Hafeez hundred ... Kamran Akmal we all know how he could pul a hundred...

Bowling leg master Kaneria and most successful bowler Umar Gul this series ....

Mohammad Asif who took 8th wicket against he played England in the last match and then 5 in this one which was half complete in terms of Pakistan bowling... not to mention world fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar not playing .. with Naved ul Hasan another England destroyer fast bowler ...

I mean 2nd test match England only won due to the horrible pitch that worked perfectly for Harmison

3rd test Pakistan dominating and losing only by Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan controversial run outs again by Hair..

And fourth test we already know

I mean please what a way to steal the fame by one dreadful man called "hair"

Remember Shoaib Malik the 3rd best all rounder in the world was also not playing.. not to mention Shahid Afridi the 'king of sixes'

Also not playing: Abdul Razzaq the key allrounder

I mean Pakistan fought hard in the hard English conditions..Shoiab Akhtar, Naved-ul-hasan , Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Shahid Nazir, Samiullah Khan, Arsahd khan, Shabbir Ahmed, Mustaq Ahmed, all these key bowler who work perfectly in the english conditons were not playing due to injuries or other reasons... except Gul who played and was the most successful and Danish and Mohammad Sami were equally skilled in their role but were not very successful in the conditions

Looks like someone ever so slightly biased has just copied word for word from somewhere else... 2 minutes to post all that sloblock - I don't think so.

Still it would have taken marc about 5 pages to do that last post, so that's welcome.
