Perhaps, but Sami is a decent lower order bat. I agree the rest of them are not too formidable in battng but the batting lineup overall is very strong. They cant make the mistake of going in with a bowler short.

Well, Sami hasn't played much lately and Gul hasn't done well lately. Asif is the spearhead but I'm not sure what kind of form he's in. Kaneria will always remain a threat but either Sami or Gul need to fire.

I am not underestimating them, I just don't think highly of them at all. (barring asif and he'll be the first thing the poms will be looking to neutralize)

Apologies to the guy named geraint is my hero, its not nice having someone you idolize slated, but being a Notts fan, Im feeling pretty smug right now. I know that its just a simple warm up, but when you can put 120 past a relatively strong pakistani team, youre pretty handy. Jonesy has made a lot of mistakes with the gloves, and has rarely delivered with the bat. Id also like to see Essexs JAMES Foster given a chance in some sort of england team, all the times i have seen him play, he's played well.

I think thats a pretty good bowling attack that Pakistan has used in that match in Asif, Sami, Kaneria and Razzaq they are all quality players. They all have many international wickets with that i would say Read has played very well and rightly deserves a spot in the team.. And i do agree with you i dont see Jones making a ton..

A bowler down, and a different spinner, but do we have the depth of batting to play 4 front-line seamers without Flintoff?!

eugh Dalrymple, no way for me, would be lucky to take a wicket in the series. IMO without Giles If we are picking a spinner it has to be Monty otherwise go for an extra batsman and 4 pacemen

i think the fact that Hoggard would have had precious little cricket since the test series with Sri Lanka might have influenced them as there is no other FC cricket atm

That's the exact reason he was selected - as with Bell and Cook, it's to get them 4 day practise prior to the Test series.

Oh gawd Dalrymples got three, fletch'll have him in instead of Monty because he can bat and field. Forget the fact hes about as much a test player as Blackwell.
