Doesn't seem as though people are that excited about these matches...

I think it's a shame they're dropping Hopes, I always think a really strong ODI side has 6 capable bowlers. Unless Clarke is bowling again now?

Dropping Hopes hasn't been confirmed to my knowledge; if you're going by the cricinfo preview they are just guessing.

Pretty sure we'll be bowling light, unless Hopes makes way for a batsman.

So excited for Marsh/Watson tomorrow. Mmm.

I am certainly looking forward to YK and Afridi play finally, and hopefully bring some contest into this one sided tour.

Ideal team from current squad for Pak:

Salman Butt
Kamran Akmal
Younis Khan
Mohammad Yousuf
Umar Akmal
Shahid Afridi
Shoaib Malik/Fawad Alam
Mohammad Amir
Umer Gul
Saeed Ajmal
Mohammad Asif

I think this team has what it takes to win this ODI series especially when Johnson is missing the first 2 or 3 ODIs Pak should launch an immediate onslaught from ODI 1 tonight.

"Aamer has taken 19 wickets from 11 One-day Internationals so far. He is not certain to play in the series opener here at the Gabba tomorrow because of the return of the experienced Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. The medium-pacer has been recalled to the one-day squad after impressing in the ongoing KFC Big Bash — Australia’s domestic Twenty20 tournament."

This is Pakistani selection for you at its best....................Rana over Amir.......i am disappointed....

In fairness, they're right; Rana has been one of the form bowlers in Big Bash this year. Took a hat-trick at Adelaide Oval and has a damn near unpickable slower-ball. For mine, he had to be in the side but I'm not so sure whether it should have been at Aamer's expense.

I am also for rana to play, he can get smacked around but he does seem extremely threatening in certain conditions. He is a genuine swing bowler and Mohammad Aamer isnt one yet. I do want Mohammad Aamer to play though. It should be Asif, Aamer and Rana.

I would go with this lineup.
1 Salman Butt, 2 Kamran Akmal (wk), 3 Younis Khan, 4 Mohammad Yousuf (capt), 5 Umar Akmal, 6 Shoaib Malik, 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. 9 Umar Gul, 10 Mohammed Aamer, 11 Mohammad Asif

No need for Ajmal at the GABBA when you have Afridi already. Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan provide other options in attack but primarily numbers 7 to 11 should be aiming to bowl the majority of the overs.

I like this side.

Pakistan seems to think that due to being from the subcontinent they should always have a spinner, when their fast men are by and large superior bowlers.
