Lol exactly. I hope when i turn 34 i can go out and hit a 191 and 97 against the Pakistanis.age_master said:yep 34, though i reakon hes got 4 years test cricket left in him, he seems to get better and better
Glenn McGrath said in his column today that the way he is going he will overtake Steve Waugh's record of number of centuries by an Australian.age_master said:yep 34, though i reakon hes got 4 years test cricket left in him, he seems to get better and better
Someone elsewhere said that he was in his crease when he did it. So if that was true (I couldn't tell for sure), it probably wouldn't be out, because an actual chance of dismissal has to exist. Would have been interesting to see what the umpire would have done.Craig said:I don't see why you wouldn't appeal - you simply never know. Obviously some of the Pakistanis aren't fimilar with the obstructing the field rule.
Wow you just seem to know everything Slow Love.Slow Love™ said:I know you like to see yourself as a bit of a stirrer, but seeing as you seem to read any criticism of any member of the Aussie team as a personal blow, maybe you need a thinner skin. Just sayin'.
Martyn getting a century in of itself doesn't upset me at all - I really enjoyed his centuries in Sri Lanka and India, they were great knocks. Your constant attempt to couch your arguments in the context of people being somehow "against Australia" or "whining" are really boring, particularly considering the amount of whining you do about how people post.
I just didn't like the contrivance of going beyond a 500 lead in order to nurse somebody from 60 to 100. A 500 lead was always going to be way more than we ever needed to win this game comfortably. If you don't think that, you need to watch more cricket, particularly this match. I didn't have a problem with not enforcing the follow-on - I did think that was an effort to reduce stress on the bowlers. However, the batting on yesterday was tedious, and unnecessary. And if we were having this conversation about India, or Sri Lanka, or Michael Vaughan, not only would you not have a problem with what I was saying, you'd probably be joining in. Try aiming higher than one-eyed parochial trolling, for a change.
Wait do you mean Justin Langer will, or Glenn McGrath will? Because you never know with Pigeon's newfound batting prowess. Anyway, where's his column?Craig said:Glenn McGrath said in his column today that the way he is going he will overtake Steve Waugh's record of number of centuries by an Australian.
Sure, I know the arguments. To me, it just sounds like rationalising overkill. The team was well and truly beaten, and already had no hope of getting back into the match - I think most captains confident of their victory would have just said "let's finish this thing." much earlier. Just my opinion tho.age_master said:plenty of time left in the match, and it keeps them in the field for longer, as well as the crowd happy cause they get to watch their hometown hero do well (after Langer and Gilly previously).
ZING! Well, I guess it's one step up from "I know you are, but what am I".Scallywag said:Wow you just seem to know everything Slow Love.
Maybe its you who needs to watch more cricket.
Now you've just given up arguing your point in favour of throwing provocative jibes.Scallywag said:Wow you just seem to know everything Slow Love.

I wouldn't go there, mate..Scallywag said:Wow you just seem to know everything Slow Love.

He would have been out if there was an appeal.Craig said:It probably would have been not out because the camera never showed whether or not he was in his crease. Only the square leg umpire.

No Mr Casson there was no argument just a disscussion that went off track because Slow Love wanted to go elsewhere and I quoteMr Casson said:Now you've just given up arguing your point in favour of throwing provocative jibes.
I know Slow Love is a bigger man than you, and I hope to God he and other people start ignoring you when you digress to abuse.
I've been receding for the best part of the last 4 years so I don't know what you're whinging about.Slow Love™ said:Haha, tell me about it - I don't quite have a bald spot yet, but it's definitely thinner at the top than it used to be. Ricky definitely drew the short straw though.
And Pakistani batsmen's inability to defend of the backfoot, I suppose, though I am not watching.andyc said:Three down! McGrath on fire. All caught behind too. That's the WACA, I guess.
