I thought there was a game of cricket on today, but when I just turned on the tv it was showing old highlights. Was it rained out, or is the match tomorrow?

I didn't watch the match but it seems our batsmen have given Ian Healy even more ammo to bag them. Haris Rauf had his birthday yesterday and his celebration today.

A friend of mine just gave me a JFM stat

In first class cricket, 45% of shots he’s played have been in the air and 42% have been off the edge

I get that he’s young blah blah blah but right now, he must be in the bottom 5% of players to have ever played Odis for Australia and that’s being really generous

If he continues to play this way, then give up any cricket longer than t20

a lot of us have been saying it this whole time, but I think it's sinking in now that he's nowhere near up to standard. He's just about done for now IMO and won't be selected again unless he improves his domestic output. Selectors can look back at it as a gamble that didn't pay off

He’ll play the T20s and the hype machine will restart if he slogs a few

What a thrashing. Doesn't give much hope for the 3rd ODI with Smith, Labuschagne, Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood leaving to join the Test squad.

Stoinis, Connolly and Abbott are already the spares while Bartlett, Johnson, Morris and Philippe have now also been added to ODI squad to cover

Maybe that record innings was his version of Charles Coventry's 194*.

Yep, can’t recall too many bigger floggings for Aus than that in my time watching. Will be interesting to see how Philippe goes if he gets a game. Certainly a cut above McJerk at least. Think he has a bit to offer in the shorter formats long-term

Lot of talk about Fraser-McGurk and rightly so but I'll just note that the wait for Matt Short to do, like, anything of note at international level at all goes on

Yeah mcgurk hate kind of ignores the fact marnus should be nowhere near this time, smith is past it in ODI and hardie + short have done nothing in ODI so far. Even Maxwell looks shot, not sure he'll make the 27 WC.

Head and marsh will make the side better (is green gonna be fit for the CT?) but there's still a lot of holes to patch up.

As far as I can tell this is the 3rd least amount of overs faced before being bowled out batting first.

141 off 31.0 overs vs Zim (2022)
151 off 32.2 overs vs NZ (2015)
163 off 35.0 overs vs Pak (2024)
152 off 38.1 overs vs SA (2018)

No other innings lasted < 40 overs
