Cricinfo saying they'll be lucky to get 15,000 crowd for day 1 at Optus stadium (holds 60,000). Should have played it at the WACA where they likely would have filled the ground (22,000)
People don’t want to come out to say goodbye to Davey? That’s un-****ing-Australian, that is.

I went on a tour of the WACA a few years ago and while old, it could have been renovated on the cheap & think that’s what they’re doing

The ground itself was as good as anything I have seen

Also had a look around Optus and it’s just a bigger Gabba - been once and no reason to rush back

The WACA pitch is crap these days. Would much rather have a smaller crowd with a better pitch.

The WACA looked fine in the WBBL a few weeks back. Was good to see it in action again.

Optus seems kinda soulless, IMO.

More people would attend Optus Stadium tests but they keep losing the tickets.

McDonald been reported over the selections that new players won't be given a go until they're more deserving than current players.

Trouble is if you never give new players a go how do you know that they're better? It seems that favoured incumbents will be given an infinite amount of time to put in a half-decent performance to justify their spot. Meanwhile they insist on players sitting out Shield matches only to have them carry the drinks all summer. Morris'd be better off playing in the BBL.

As it has been with Warner there's absolutely no sign they'll actually make a decision to drop a player, instead everyone gets to coast into retirement.

Australia won the toss so the game is likely already over. Aus to score 500+, Pak bowled out twice.
