Standardize the bats and make everyone bat with one like the one Viv Richards used to use.
Bowlers have to use the same ball, there is standardization there.

Why are batsman free to use whatever bat they like..with very limited restrictions on the advancements of the bats. It's crazy.
You don't see this sort of BS in any other sport.

Subtle flick off the legs, semi-defensive drives, etc are literally racing away to the boundary from time to time. It makes a mockery of the sport.
The guys batting are barely putting any effort behind their stroke and the ball is racing or flying to all corners, regardless of the format. It makes for **** viewing.
A boundary nowadays barely feels special, it's too easy.. too common.

No one's saying that though are they? We all complimented him on how he switched up gears, and his work on getting more runs on the off side is noticeable. No 20 year old is the finished product, but damn this kid looks like he's got some fantastic tools to build on. I can't remember a 20 year old with his temperament for a start. The wild swing in Melb is about the only time he's looked uncontrolled.
I'm not saying they are. All I said is that he could potentially improve upon rotating the strike.

It's not that his hands didn't move Waqar. His feet were nailed in place. It's one thing to stay down, but you've still got to be able to move laterally, especially when you're keeping to a leggie pitching outside off. Just ********* keeping. Almost Wadesque.

Imran Khan is nothing but cannon fodder. Sohail Khan has his moments but bowls a lot of pies.

Pakistan are looking desperate with their bowling stocks.

Need to find a star from somewhere.

I've done a bit off keeping and pretty sure your feet wouldn't be moving too much when taking that ball up to the stumps, if at all. It would be more a transition of weight and shoulders/arms rotating to take the ball.

edit: you're right about him being nailed in place though, He just didn't move at all. Looks to me like he was just napping tbh. It happens to me all the time on the field.

I've never said this before, but maybe Yasir should consider becoming a drug addict again.

The thing I always worked hardest on was footwork. I wasn't great, but lateral movement, even keeping up, is always the thing that makes your job easier. Always felt in good knick when the feet were moving. Just like batting keeping your head over the ball puts your hands in the best position.

Cartwright's batting technique looks quite orthodox

Obviously wasnt coached by an Aussie as a youngster

It's pretty easy to slag off Australian selectors (deservedly), but they look like they've got something right with Renshaw and Handscomb.

And Cartwright imo. It's just disappointing that it took them so long to get there. Who would have thought that a good First Class record would translate to Test Match ability...

Bit early to be worrying about how much time they need to bowl em out twice surely Pup. You did see Melbourne didn't you?
