Final hour. I think the bowling side gets an extra half hour if they feel they can wrap the game up, but hopefully it gets too dark to continue then. Would be such a fitting finish, both sides denied a win by bad light.

Will admit, didn't expect England to last for 130+ overs in the fourth innings here with just two batsmen who are comfortable against spin. Been seriously impressive.

You don't get an extra half hour on the last day

They'll get the overs in actually won't they? Usual finish time would be at half five, and they'll rush through the overs with spin, so they might finish at 15 past or whatever.

Draw down to 2.66, oh my Lord we've dominated this Niall. So tempted to hedge though to prevent me crying when Pak win

Its brutal after timing this and the type of thing that people on the internet get slagged off and a lot of the time for good reason, but one of my pet peeves is sometimes captains are to focused on players personal milestones, Pakistan did not need 490 against this attack and heck would they have declared if Shafiq had not got out at 86 and let him continue to bat on?

England did the same thing last year against Sri Lanka in the first test to be fair and ran out of time,so far from a Misbah issue.

Yeah if this is a draw, Misbah will regret delaying the declaration on Day 4. The longer Pakistan batted was always going to favour England.

Jacket coming on to bowl. I'm scared, gonna hedge.

Love you Niall, best of luck if you ride it out.

tbf 4 sessions should have been more than enough to bundle a team out in the 4th innings. If you couldn't get them out because they played out of their skins then kudos to them. I really don't think declaration timing was such an issue

Agreed, who knows if Younis as Shafiq did get out in the 80's they would have declared, he was probably a little ****y after the first innings collapse, although its doubtful that any other captains would have declared.

Matthews and Ramdin would have batted until lunch of the fifth day.

Kohli would have forfeited the third innings though.

Following this match is fun. You've got the match itself, you've got the discussion on the tactics that lead to the situation, the tactics each side should be adopting, and then the fun side story of Jono and Niall's bets on the game.

Good stuff.

I thought it was an okay decision. They had between 140-150 overs to get England out and it must've felt enough. You can't criticize a decision because the opposition played very well.

Yeah exactly..it looked like they were batting on to let Shafiq get a record 9th century..and Shafiq even reviewed a plump lbw
