**Official** Pakistan and England in the UAE 2015/16

Its feasible, Imran is decent, but manageable, Pakistan seem to reliant on Yasir and Wahab to pull out some magic to get things going,
Yeah, they're the only two bowlers who have really looked threatening this series for Pakistan, and Wahab looks a bit knackered.

This is a good partnership, and I am happy to see Bell batting himself back to some kind of form...but I just get the feeling, one wicket and England will likely fold.

Root is a machine, obviously one series at a time, but he v Rabada next series could be amazing viewing when you consider their ages and expectations about the pair.

Too many lefties for my liking. I see no reason why Pak wont include Asif if they're including Amir.

An attack of Amir-Asif-Wahab-Yasir would be mouth-watering. Especially in non-SC conditions. Pak tour Eng, NZ and Aus next year. Am hopeful this attack comes to frutition.
Asif isn't allowed into the UAE.

xulfi's bowling average is a freaking 40

That's worse than Ishant F Sharma's average 2 years ago

I think its just a case of picking a guy a little to late really, when he was beasting it in domestic cricket, Pakistan were sticking with Rehman and Ajmal, a few years ago he would have been a match winner if picked.

I would assume Bilal will come in next test and then they will look at Gohar down the road.

agreed.

Not sure what his record in the LO format looks like. IIRC he used to be pretty decent in LO when he first came in.

Speaking of Abdur Rehman he has just gone off the radar.

Somerset cut his contract early this season as he was awful . he isn't old especially for a spinner, he just turned crap a few years ago and has stayed crap. Really bizarre.

About as good a position as we could have hoped to be in at the start of the day. While Root is there we still have a slim chance. Could easily have been 5 down and struggling to last till lunch but we are still fighting.

yeah, for some reason Abdur Rehman doesn't seem like the sort who's going to bounce back from his rut either. Since he turned crap he has been going further down that road

I get the feeling given Asif's age and the feeling the he was didn't seem too remorseful for what he did, PAK are unlikely to go back to him.
Asif is only 32. He's younger than Jimmy Anderson. I see no reason why he can't make a successful comeback on the three away tours next year. He never relied on pace, and his body hasn't gone under the rigours of Test/FC cricket over the last 5 years. If Pak want to succeed outside UAE next year, they need Asif. He would most likely be nullified in the UAE, but on pitches that offer even a hint of assistance to seam bowling, he will exploit it. He can retire after those 3 series.
