Got to feel for Ferreira, he had Ayub dropped off his bowling on 3 and now 97 , when you're a fringe player these sort of situations can impact your entire career in a negative fashion especially with our selection dynamics.

Rob Walter skating on thin ice ? Our white ball cricket has been really poor compared to our red ball team
I think so. Champs Trophy is massive for him. Needs to keep doing well in major tournaments to keep the belief going because our bi-lateral performances haven't been great which is the bread and butter.

I'm all for giving opportunity (& understand key players being rested) but he gives more vibes of fitness and discipline and I justice wonder how someone like Robin Peterson or even Lance Klusener could do with all the young talent getting this opportunity.

I mean coach should be , tournament performances should only excuse poor bilateral series if you are winning the tournaments.

South Africa is historically a big team but with all due respect failing to beat Ireland in a T20 and ODI series , getting destroyed by West Indies, Afghanistan, India B side that hurts SA brand a lot. A Big 3 coach would have been fired by now with these sort of performances.

Yep that's fair. My frustration with Walter is that he keeps on chopping and changing and it needs to stop!

You've got to put some value on getting a Proteas cap and having a settled team with the odd change here and there.
So many players are in and out the team without really establishing themselves or rested for no reason.

What did Fortuin really do to merit a drop from the squad ?
Same with Verreynne in the odi team, Stubbs doesn't need to be rested he's an all format batsmen and he's young let him get a hit out before the test series.

We have flavour of the month all rounders, Kruger, Simelane , then Linde was brought back out of nowhere, Ferreira returns after a while , and now Galiem has been added to the mix , even Phehlukwayo is getting games ..
Walter is doing too much. The team looks unsettled and insecure about their places in the team perhaps that explains our pathetic fielding aswell.
