But 1 more wicket exposes Razzag who's average is not that flash. Only 28.

Then its the tail. I'm still quite positive about our chances.

Hameed is a bloody good player, when I first saw him in Sri Lanka I knew he was going to do well.

Doesn't look like we'll be getting much action at the moment, delay for bad light & they've got the flood lights on!

whoops, flicked the tv on & its started again.

Hameed lbw to Tuffey
210/4.

Vettori is an ALLROUNDER. :P
Soon to be a batting allrounder?

Maybe that's a little unfair, but I'm starting to wonder what kind of pitches he needs to be a genuine threat again. Seaming NZ wickets - no, Sri Lankan wickets - no, Indian wickets - no, flat NZ wickets - no...

I reckon McIntosh has got to play in the test series against South Africa. The selectors need to consider whether Vincent is likely to score runs as an opener against Pollock, Ntini etc...the likely answer is no.

McIntosh is currently 100* against Wellington btw.

Shame Auckland aren't going for the win now.

Shame McIntosh can't break into the squad for the 2nd Test as it has already been named.

South Africa is his only chance now.

It sounds as though the gameplan of John Bracewell when it comes to batting is for Richardson, Vincent & Fleming to blunt the attack & then allow players like Styris, McMillan & Cairns to play their natural game once NZ are in a reasonably dominant position.

Well I can't see Vincent being able to do that, i'd say going by what Bracewell & Fleming have said in interviews..McIntosh can't be too far off a test spot because he has the ability to bat long hours & has a proven record at FC level of being able to do that.

Yeah but most of Hameed''s runs were scored against the great Bangladesh.

He hadn't scored above 30 in his last 8 test innings before this.

The reason why perhaps NZ are good at test cricket is because all our bowlers are more than capable of producing runs & for big men like Tuffey & Oram they are amazing in the field.

I saw a few highlights of Tuffey, Bond & Oram taking catches recently & they're just as good as the better fielders in the side...I think this does make-up for the lack of individual flair in the batting on occassions.

argh, Vincent drops Inzi first ball of the day.
As much as Vincent can be good in the field, he can also be a liability.

52, 53, 63, 61, 127* v NZ in his last 5 knocks.

56, 16, 72, 30, 28 v SA in his 5 before that.

He's surely not too bad.

Butler 14-3-79-0 ouch!

Pakistan still 37 off the follow-on with 4 intact.

New Zealand still with a clear shot.

There is still 9 more sessions left. And that equals to 180 overs. It's silly to say a result is out of reach already.

Pakistan have a long tail with Moin Khan at 7, who got 0 and 1 against Auckland. Razzag at 6 isn't that convincing either.

So you judge one player by his performance in one side match (moin) and the other by his overall batting ave. Interesting!

Moin has always been a good batsman, but a lowsy wicket keeper.Right now he's batting on 82, he has already saved the match for Pak, and he will try to get a ton in this match to cement his place in the team too.

Razzak is a very capable batsman, infact he seems to be more of a batting allrounder these days.

Moin hit Vettori for a 4, the next for a 6 and the third one for a 4 to get to his ton!!

I guess it was more of a "Moin-saving" knock than a Pak saving one.Rashid Lateef is now unlikely to regain his place back into the team!

Butler has been absolute crap in this match, apart from the occassional good ball.

I think I heard something like 80% of his runs had come in bounderies.

There seems to be a worldwide trend at the moment where teams just cannot bowl out the lower orders.
