*Official* Opening Match- England v New Zealand- October 5th, Ahmedabad

Moss

International Vice-Captain
Having said that, Jos should clearly have got Moeen on to the two left handers before Wood.
Yeah I'd get him on right away, much like Latham turned to Santner when Boult was wayward at the start.

Right on cue.

So has anyone commented on just how ridiculous this NZ XI is? Setting aside playing 3 specialist bowlers and having Santner batting at 9, Rachin at 3? I mean don't get me wrong, if he's playing that's where he should be batting. But Stead has spent the entire year mucking about with him at 7 or 8 in the order, before deciding to trial him at number 3 for the first time at the biggest event in the cricketing calendar.

The guy has no ****ing clue how to develop and promote talent. He's been coasting on the greatness of a handful of senior players and a couple of happy surprises.
Genius tbh

Do feel a little for Wood, like I do for Ferguson, where the faster they bowl in white-ball cricket the faster they disappear to the boundary.

In saying that, nearly all these boundaries have come off the middle of the bat.
