I strongly feel we'll go all right over the course of the series. Most of these guys haven't even played a game on months. Can't be too hard on them yet

This is not the worst New Zealand batting lineup so there are no excuses
?

NZ hasn't selected such a weak squad since resting several players for a ODI tour to Pakistan in 2003. The batting line up is a NZ A lineup (assuming there was a NZ A T20 team).

Our board will never learn. WC is soon and we are preparing slow pitches. This would have been ideal opportunity to make FLAT pitches and try our strengths. You gotta be prepared to lose to win. FFS. Once again a series and we will achieve nothing. Bullshit. **** this series

It reminds me of the 02/03 India tour of NZ ... pitches that didn't really help either side prepare for the upcoming World Cup.

Probably, yes. You'd still back this Bangladesh side vs *this* NZ lineup on flat pitches at home surely. But why fix what isn't broken I suppose is the reasoning.

Is it that Bangladesh can't prepare better decks due to overuse of this ground with back to back games or they deliberately produce that sort of pitches to keep the supporters happy?

Both, but more the latter in recent years imo.

What's the deal here, Ajaz, Cole and Rachin bowl like 8-10 overs and be done with the game?

When you make player well-being a key focus during the selection process and accidentally expose the remaining players to hell.

I’ve gotta wonder about that. I mean yeah, KW needs an extended break, especially with his elbow. But why was Guptill left at home? Why isn’t Phillips over there? If Latham, Nicholls and CdG can turn up, why not Conway and Santner?

I’m fine with giving the likes of Rachin a few games but sending over an A team to Bangladustbowl is lambs to the cosmic slaughter.

I think you treat it as prep for games 2-3-4-5. So Ajaz gets minimum 3 overs, Cole and Rachin minimum 2 overs. Doug and Tickner an over each (perhaps Tickner in the power play). The game might be all over by 9 overs.

I think the idea was to have as little overlap as possible between this one and the Pakistan series (pretty much back-to-back)? Guptill will be involved in that one. Phillips and Seifert are in the CPL, I'm guessing that arrangement was worked out already. Not sure about the others.
