Somehow if we can get to 100 we may have a game on hand but our bowling is inexperienced too. Can they bowl wicket to wicket with subtle change in pace?

They have a solid BD lineup to contend with too.

Ha ha, how very Latham that dismissal was. With that the probability of a defendable score.

Well the thing is you often see NZ posters complaining about the awful spectacle and poor value for money, when they've been given an unpleasant 120-150 pitch in the Super Smash.

Unless they get some kind of under-25 player swapping scheme going with the PSL or CPL or something, I'm not sure how NZC would go about getting good improvement.
Or... just play all cricket on even-paced roads and pretend tougher conditions don't exist *taps head*.

Yes three of the four early wickets are young/newer players who may have the ability to score a subcontinent test hundred, not just uncultured T20 biffers. Just not yet.

Jokes about our batting aside, this pitch is all sorts of up-and-down, even allowing for Mustafizur's ability to roll fingers over the ball.

Damn.. Just when I thought Latham was playing the Captain's knock. He was kind of settled, should have carried on a little longer

Not a good day to be a debutant clearly.

Despite what the comms are saying, batting first clearly looks the right call. Lineup too undercooked to make use of the opportunity.

You've been selected as the older steady head with a lowish strike rate. Exactly what we needed here, not a CdG. Stop aiming for the moon, guys.

You know I think the Don Bradman rule apples here...

...if you don't hit the ball in the air, you can't get out.

the thing is, people are right, no one wants to watch t20 finger spinners shoot out sides for under 100 on rolled mud because pitch dependent twirly whirlies are boring.

if this is a test match, it would at least be treated seriously. this is a good learning experience for the young boys.
