Very pleasantly surprised by the performance in NZ over the weekend. I'd hoped (and expected) a credible effort, but that's a great win first up against the Warriors over there.
And I just want to say once again, Luke Burt, WAFG. Was our best player all last year IMO, in a dud side, and despite his small stature he is rarely out muscled in defence, not often out-leapt by bigger opponenets, and almost never makes a mistake.
On the other hand, we got rid of Grothe, and seem to have replaced him with another bloody winger who races in off his flank at every opportunity, instead of trusting the blokes inside him. He needs to either get better fast, or play at Ringrose Park for Wenty.

Anyway PEWS and my tipping an upset performance this week mirroring the performance of my footy team. What a disgraceful rabble we were. Knights fans should be calling for the head of their coach for only managing to put 40 on us.
Going to Parra stadium Friday night. I must be one of those guys that get pleasure out of pain. 8 of us couldn't tackle Matt Hilder, I hate to see what Hayne is going to do to us.

Alot can happen in a week, and derbies hard to predict at the best of times but I'm really worried about us at this point. I've seen bad performances by teams but that was one of the most heartless displays I've seen. They really looked like they didn't care and it showed in errors in the most basic elements of the game (we were penalised 3 times for running in front of the kicker at a kickoff). Jennings was rushed back for a **** performance, is now injured and in doubt for Friday at least. Everybody has off days, but that really looked like a team completely out of synch with each other.
Your mob looks committed. Forget about any other failings, that'll be enough imo.
Anyway, the upside is that if we keep playing like this it'll be the end of that idiot Elliott. Should have happened 2-3 years ago.

I think that will be one of the big differences this year. Pearce and Carney will be picked throughout the whole series fitness permitting.

Looks like we'll be signing Timana Tahu. Kind of excited, particularly because he looks to be coming cheap, but I don't recall him being all that impressive last year. He was poor in SOO, and I don't recall seeing him doing anything noteworthy at the Eels last year, but then I didn't watch a huge amount of Eels games. Also a question mark on whether he's a complete grub of course.
