Agreed, 1991 was a terrific GF.

It looked like the begining of a Panthers dynasty.

However, 1992 just fell apart for them (also off the field with the tragic death of Ben Alexander, so sad).

From memory the on field and off field stuff were very closely linked. Brandy took a hiatus for obvious reasons, and he wasn't the same player after that, but the whole club was hit very hard by Ben's death and it affected the performance of the team. Ben was a pretty handy player himself by all accounts too. A pivotal moment in our history.

Because you nearly have to kill someone to get a penalty in a GF. Unless someone gets tapped on the chin and flails around on the ground for a minute of course.

Awesome try to Manly right on halftime. Might be because I'm not a huge fan of rugby league but up until then I hadn't really been excited by the first half. Might've been a bit of an obstruction in the build up but to be fair his own player he bumped into was beside rather than in front of him so I don't have much of a problem with that.

def seems like the refs are keeping count of the pen count and want to keep it around 3-3 count - or whatever it is right now - instead of 8-2 or whatever. Manly very lucky so far.
