Suffice to sayt he premiers did not go around at the Olympic Stadium tonight. Souths have nothing in the backs, and Cronulla don't have the pace to win it.

Was thinking about changing my tip from Souths all weekend, but thought if I did the Sharks would win. They did anyway.

Still 6/8 is not too bad.

Should have tipped the Titans!

have a feeling Inglis will be back outwide soon, with Folau gone next year I'm pretty sure he will be in the centres, apparently Melbourne are interested in getting Brett Finch, so that pretty much confirms Inglis days at 5/8 are numbered.
Dire.

Melbourne have picked up Brett Anderson from Northern Pride in the the QLD Wizard Cup. You might remember him as playing two NRL games in his career and made his debut for Parramatta in 2004 at age 17. Don't know too much about him except that he has been in some pretty good form in state league, and if anybody can spot a rough diamond out there, it is the Storm (remember Matt King was on the bench for Cronulla's Premier League team and look what he achieved).

Apparently he has gone into the Melbourne squad on a full time training basis as of today.

Grothe will be lucky to be in 1st grade by then I think. When Inu & B Smith come back, he'd have to go.

Qld would just run 2 metres to his side of the field, causing Eric to run in 20 metres, thereby leaving a 4 man over lap.

How is Folau a Qlder anyway? I thought he grew up in Minto. Whilst I accept that Qld really is one big Minto, it hardly seems right. Do you only have to fly over there as a kid to get a jumper?
Because they moved to Brisbane when he was 13 and he played his first senior rep footy at his age group to qualify for Queensland. Mat Rogers was the other dodgy one when it comes to playing Origin as well. Apparently Folau was also eligible for New Zealand as well.

Then again Peter Stirling is technically a Queenslander.

Matt Rogers actually played Rugby Union for TSS. I think he's Mum is a Qlder, or at least supports QLD, and his Dad was a NSW great, said he would never play for NSW. Not exactly sure where he played his first senior rugby league though.

I know he played for Nerang on the Gold Coast when he was younger, so whether or not that counts or not I'm not sure.

whats you're opinion on Hunt then? After Lockyer retires will he:

A) Remain as fullback and make the spot his own for both Qld and Aus
B) Move to Five-Eighth but still play Fullback for Qld despite us having the likes of Slater, Bowen and Zillman playing that position every week
C) Move to Five-Eighth and play that position in rep football moving in front of the likes of Scott Prince and Cooper Cronk in the halves.
D) Something else??
He'll be in rep teams in the future, particularly Origin. The selectors would be loathe to turn their back on a tough as anything 21 year old, who has repeatedly proven himself in the toughest league theatre of all - Origin. They don't fall out of trees those type of guys. And yeah, I think he's good enough to tick A B or C (above). Like Lockyer's positional switch, great players adapt.

Tim SMith has just had a PC where he's walking from Parra - been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.

Bloody sad really. Hope that **** Ray Hadley, who's been bagging him mercilessly for 2 seasons, is happy now.

.
Yes, sad news. Bipolar disorder is an illness caused by an imbalance of chemicals in the brain and can cause extreme fluctuations in mood from the heights of mania to the depths of serious and exaggerated depression.

I'd imagine the cut-throat world of professional sport, full with big highs in the lead up to games and the winning of them and huge lows from coming down after big losses and shockers, would only accentuate such a condition.

Also, microscopic scrutiny probably wouldn't help.

It's amazing how Andrew Johns got through it all.

hope he makes a comeback next year, hopefully with a different club, probably needs to get away from Parramatta.

What do you do with Reg Gasnier then? Have him running the water?
No, he'd be a worthy player in any side. I just wanted to make a few selections to get some discusions going, and as great as he is, there are others who could play there. Having said that, you could say the same for guys like Beetson, but I still picked him. Just wanted to throw as many different names out there as I could.

For sure man. I hope he comes back too. The way people rebuild their life is by doing what they do best, and doing what is close to their heart. You don't rebuild your life by sitting around and having a huge vacuum in terms of filling out the day. There is nothing that compares to having something to focus on, and something to get up for in the morning.

Tozzer becomes the first person to tip 100% for the year, and gets 9 points for doing so (bonus point for 100%). IIRC he was the only person to tip the Titans, who caused the only real upset of the round. Burgey came close, but it just wasn't to be this week. I've removed Nufan from the competition unless he says something, I haven't seen any tips from him since round 1. This upcoming round is going to be a nasty one to tip imo, good luck.
