1 Stewart
2 Grothe
3 Cooper
4 Gasnier
5 Hayne
6 Anasta
7 Wallace

Is what I'd pick. Just don't want Pearce to play until next year.
Grothe will be lucky to be in 1st grade by then I think. When Inu & B Smith come back, he'd have to go.

Qld would just run 2 metres to his side of the field, causing Eric to run in 20 metres, thereby leaving a 4 man over lap.

How is Folau a Qlder anyway? I thought he grew up in Minto. Whilst I accept that Qld really is one big Minto, it hardly seems right. Do you only have to fly over there as a kid to get a jumper?

Yeah, admittedly I just copy and pasted and put Cooper in. Would probably go with Lawrence or someone like that. Maybe even Minichello.
doubt Minichiello will be fit enough for Origin by then, Lawrence's form has been down in the past three weeks, Grothe will probably get picked purely and simply because there are very few other options.

Loved the win today, moreso because Clapo's a Knights fan. Was a very exciting game, and neither side really deserved to lose, however Newcastle made more mistakes (or at least mistakes at the worst times) and you can't do that against the Broncos, with or without Lockyer.

Very positive signs for Broncos fans with the side at least looking like they can win without Lockyer. Can only get better for us when Lockyer returns to full fitness.

Wonderful game of football today.
was a good game mate and agree no team deserved to loose, being a knights fan it also hurts but yer, good game of footy!

Have had a go at naming my team of the century, bloody hard to do! Centre's an fullback were tough as its difficult fitting all those great players in the team when they play the same positions.

1 Clive Churchill - Think he just shades it in here, not by a lot
2 Ken Irvine - Obvious selection, greatest try scorer in the history of the game
3 Graeme Langlands - Had to be in the team somewhere, was a better fullback than centre but still one of the best
4 Reg Gasnier - Greatest centre ever, no doubt
5 Brian Bevan/Eddie Lumsden - couldnt split them, Bevan was brilliant in England but Lumsden had an awesome record here
6 Wally Lewis - It's 50/50 between he and Fulton really, could put Lewis to lock but I'd prefer Wally in his best position
7 Keith Holman - Could have gone for anyone, didnt want to pick Joey, Holman did everything and was a trully great player, doubt anyone could argue with his selection
8 Arthur Beetson - He was what Rugby League is all about, true great of the game
9 Ian Walsh - Greatest hooker ever by some margin
10 Glenn Lazarus - Under rated in terms of greatness, was the dominant front rower in the game for 10 years.
11 Norm Provan - Easy selection, his record picks him no problems
12 Harry Bath - Never played for Australia but should have, pretty sure he will make this team
13 Johnny Raper - Legend of the game, picks himself, easy choice
Reserves
14 Bob Fulton - A shame we cant have 3 centres or 2 five eighths, he was next picked in both positions
15 Dally Messenger - The first superstar of the game, had to be in the 17 somewhere
16 Ray Price - Parra's great teams of the 70's and 80's deserves at least one player and Price was the leader of this generation, true hero of the game
17 Mal Meninga - The fact he only makes the bench goes to show how many greats there are in his position, was the most feared players of the 80's and 90's.

whats you're opinion on Hunt then? After Lockyer retires will he:

A) Remain as fullback and make the spot his own for both Qld and Aus
B) Move to Five-Eighth but still play Fullback for Qld despite us having the likes of Slater, Bowen and Zillman playing that position every week
C) Move to Five-Eighth and play that position in rep football moving in front of the likes of Scott Prince and Cooper Cronk in the halves.
D) Something else??

Tim SMith has just had a PC where he's walking from Parra - been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.

Bloody sad really. Hope that **** Ray Hadley, who's been bagging him mercilessly for 2 seasons, is happy now.

Edit: Just heard Gasnier out for 4 weeks witha hammie tear.

Like your side, but for the sake of promoting discussion:

Langlands
Irvine
M Meninga
S Rogers
E Grothe (Snr)
Clay
Johns
Price
McCarthy
N Provan
Beetson
I Walsh
Webke
Bench: Lazarus, Sattler, Lewis, G Miles
Interesting you put "Poppa" Clay in over Lewis or Fulton.I can't remember if he even played for Australia.????????

Not real sure either - just wanted to make some discussion, and I recall my grandfather saying he was some player. And I can't sand Bozo, great player though he no doubt was.
Wanted to run with the Cronin-Rogers combo from the 70s, which was the best centre pairing I've seen for Australia, but I couldn't deny Meninga who played so many tests. Maybe Dave Brown in the centres - point scoring freak I believe.

What do you do with Reg Gasnier then? Have him running the water?

Inglis plays 5/8 for Melbourne but still gets selected on the wing for Queensland. There probably isn't the same amount of out and out specialist on wings as fullbacks. But I still reckon Hunt will get selected at fullback even if he plays at 5/8. Just think Slater's and Bowen's height and size limitations will always hold them back from cementing regular spots at rep level.

have a feeling Inglis will be back outwide soon, with Folau gone next year I'm pretty sure he will be in the centres, apparently Melbourne are interested in getting Brett Finch, so that pretty much confirms Inglis days at 5/8 are numbered.

The worst part about this is he should be playing for NSW
