Pretty confused by what Des' future game plan and strategy is tbh, they threw the house at a genuine half in Todd Carney and now they settle on Chris Bailey, wonder what sort of game Manly will play next year.
Well Todd Carney's best position is 6 also.

I just think they need someone to help Orford out.

Yeh I'm aware of that, but I can't see him being an NRL standard ball player, see a lot of Ash Harrison, Matt Hilder, David Stagg type player in him. Maybe slightly more creative but he's a capable stand in, but to expect him to play five eight for three years is beyond him imo
Yeah I'm going to say that he'll be a success at 6 for all 3 years in his contract. I just think he's a decent first grader, not better then Ash Harrison is at 6. He'll probably switch from 6 to 13 very often.

The thing is if we got Carney, then we would have had to get rid of Bell. So with Bailey we can keep Bell and still have a 5/8. There still looking for a big name backrower as well though, to replace Menzies and Williamson. Would just start with Cuthbertson personally. And back Jack, Hall, Mauro and Matai to do a job off the bench.

Most likey with his signing Matai will drop to the bench and when he comes on he might play a bit of backrow. But really Des wants a backrower who can play a bit of 5/8. He doesn't really want a tradition 5/8, so there is good chance he could play regularly at 5/8. Also how many clubs actually have traditional 5/8 these days.

Yeah exactly, I'm almost certain barring injuries that this will happen.

Out of left field though.. Michael Bani, heard he used to play as a 6 and wants to eventually move back there, although he is happy on the wing at the moment. Do you think he's any chance to play 6?

He is likely to make his return to football through the NSW Cup. Nick Bradley-Q will play ahead of him at 5/8 in that side. Do I need to say more about his chances of playing 5/8.

backed Manly heavily for a half time lead @ $1.58, I'm usually the first to have a go at Menzies and his complete over ratedness, but I was cheering when he got over.

Yep, great bet those Sea Eagles

I tipped them, but don't mind seeing the Dragons get up, as much as they tried to lose it. Nathan Brown must have nightmares after every game.

very happy i took the better odds on offer of the halftime lead than straight out winning the match.
