Aren't we skating on thin ice if we through around names like this? Burgey and Howard are our legal experts here...

Pretty sure I never named any names, if people want to put two and two together good luck to them.

Errr, that's no defence. If the players are easily identifiable by blatant clues, that's enough for a lawyer to go on.

Yep, exactly. It's still defamation if it's reasonable for the reader to conclude that you implied that player.

What will Saint Waayne the Sanctimonious of Suncopr do now? He's been only to happy to punt non-entities for breaches of the club's code of conduct (not just breaches of the law) in the past. Will he have the stones to stand these fellas down leading up to a knock out final v the competition's hot pots?

Apparently there wre other allegations concering poor behaviour at pubs on Saturday, including queue jumping for cabs outside pubs when one or two players could barely walk they were that smashed.

Be interested to hear HJ's take on this - as a long time John Howard supporter, I know he hates queue jumpers......

haha

Yeah, it's a tough one.

It's the whole Anthony LaFrannchi v Greg Bird scenario I guess.

When is the evidence so incontrovertible that a player deserves to be stood down, rather than be allowed to play on until proven guilty?

This'll be interesting. Hunt, Boyd & Thaiday are MUCH more high-profile than Te Reo & Lacey from last season. Wonder what'll happen to them if they are sacked?

Nothing has been proved or anything, obviously Boyd is already leaving but I can assure you that IF they are guilty then they will be sacked.

A finals injustice

Pretty much agree with everything this bloke says. Either bring in the AFL system, or go back to the top 5.

Re: The Broncos, anyone have any idea who alledged the 4th player is?

See the Warriors v Roosters tickets sold out in something like 15 minutes. Crazy!

I think it's so healthy for the comp, and for NZ league generally, that the Warriors are doing well. They're one of my favourite sides, though they do shoot themselves in the foot so many times! Even last Sunday, they did everything they could to lose that match - giving away penalties when they had the ball etc. And Witt's put down of the ball at the end...haha

Anyway, they should be two absolute cracking semi finals.

Good to see both matches selling well.

The Brisbane-Melbourne-Cronulla side is so wide open IMO, compared with Manly who you'd have to think would be heavy favourites v either Roosters or Warriors next week. **** I hate Manly.

Only thing going against Manly is that if Roosters beat Warriors then Easts effectively have home ground advantage week 3. Shouldnt matter anyway, Manly should destroy them.
