Retiring this year or playing quater of a season for $250000+? What would you do?Craig said:Jason Smith is considering an offer from Souths?
What is he thinking? Wouldn't it be better to go out with a top 8 spot and play in the finals and the retire then go on for another season and ruin his name and reputation like (using a World Cup analogy) Zinedine Zidane of France?
I'd be more disappointed with the performance than the result. 7 of the 17 from the Tri Nations final, plus Vainikolo and players who should be capable of holding their own, like Paleaasaesina and Paul. Perhaps it wasn't NZs first choice team, but their defence shouldn't have been anywhere near that shambolic. How many times did Long/McGuire kick through and GB not only get the ball back but have 4/5 players lining up to score the try? More than twice, which is unacceptable.Blaze said:tbh i am a little dissapointed with the kiwis result against GB. We should have been called NZ A for a start, and what was the point in such a fixture? Other than kicking NZ rugby league even further into the ground...
I didn't watch it.. I can't really watch a team called 'New Zealand' when they leave most of their best players at home.steds said:I'd be more disappointed with the performance than the result. 7 of the 17 from the Tri Nations final, plus Vainikolo and players who should be capable of holding their own, like Paleaasaesina and Paul. On the other hand, James Graham and Ade Gardner.
Yeah. Close to our best side started today. Carney and Yeaman in for Pryce and Senior and O'Loughlin instead of Sculthorpe (who's always injured anyway) and that's about as good as it gets for us, atm. Obviously not Australia's quality, but with our front row, if Long and McGuire can work it like they did today, I'm sure we'll compete.Blaze said:Sounds like GB played well though, hopefully you can compete in the Tri Nations. That will be a tough ask away from home though.
Heard his ball skills by foot aren't all that crash hot.howardj said:Any word on what position Glenn McGrath is playing for Newcastle this weekend?

yeah cause you really need another reason to have a go at bennetthowardj said:I would have blasted Wayne Bennett out of office with a relentless stream of letters-to-the-editor.
I really can't see the Cowboys winning (even thought they're playing Souths), I mean they're depleted by Origin, injury, poor form, they have players playing in unfamiliar positions and how often has a team hit back from a massive loss with a fighting win.dontcloseyoureyes said:I hope they beat the Cowboys, just for the sheer weight of laughs that could be had.
