I would love to see the grand final moved back to day time, but that is just a personal preference I guess.

I think a lot of people agree with you there because down there it is a public holiday, when it is not the case up here (or anywhere else I guess).

The Broncos and the Storm always seem to start well. The Storm have been very good and there is a lot to like about their outside backs as well as their hard working forwards but it is still too early to tell IMO.
Yeah, at the moment it's obvious who the heavy-weights are - Brisbane; Melbourne; Newcastle; Cowboys; St George; Canterbury. Then there's the next level - Manly; Tigers. But, until you get into the Finals (when teams really focus every week) it's too early to tell who the favourite is.

Um Cowboys heavyweights?? They have won 1 of their past 6... Yes they had a good start to the season but they are not heavyweights...

Rep season is hurting them more than they thought, imo Graham Murray coaching the Blues isnt good for them...

Sharks are at least as good as Wests too, IMHO.
no way, Tigers are the premiership winners, as much as i dont like them they are without doubt one of the heavyweights and one of the top 3 or 4 benchmarks in the comp that the other sides are trying to strive to be. Sharks have played 6 weeks of good footy and have some in form players, they havent played any of the big sides during the run, even though they sit comfortably in the eight i dont see them as a threat.

TBF that was last season. Parra are minor premiers & look at what's happened to them. Wests too reliant on a few players.

I don't think Cronulla will win it, but equally I'd be surprised if they don't make the 8.

Well 1st of all let me say how shocked i am, Simon will never live this post down...

IMO i think the competition is divided into 2 groups..

Broncos
Knights
Cowboys
Dragons
Storm
Tigers
Manly
Dogs

Roosters
Souths
Raiders
Sharks
Warriors
Panthers
Eels

Obvioulsy Some of the teams in that bottom list can do some damage but i just dont think they can consistently put in the performances to challenge the top teams...

i think 2 groups isnt enough, when all the teams are at their best id say its 4 groups

Broncos
Storm
Bulldogs
Tigers
Dragons

Cowboys
Knights
Manly

Eels
Raiders
Sharks
Roosters

Warriors
Panthers
Souths

Tigers still have the players there that won it last year, their squad is arguably stronger, but thats probably evened out by the fact they are a massive target for every side, everyone wants to beat the premiers, i think its taken three months for the tigers to deal with the fact they are being targeted every week, i dont think they'll win the comp, nor do i think they'll make the top 4, but at the very least we'll see tem play the type of footy that won the last years comp during the rest of the season.

You should really have Souths in a fifth category then.... :p

The sharks are more reliant on certain players then the Tigers... The Sharks got touched up by the Tigers before they went on their winning run where they played, The teams they have beaten are The Cowboys, Penrith, Dragons, Warriors, Souths and Raiders... Now only 2 of them can be considered top sides, whilst you also have to take into account that they have had 2 byes which inflates their position on the ladder...

They have a tough run home and with no byes to have a rest i think they will struggle to make the 8..

They made agood point about the Sharks on the footy show this morning, they've won games with Dykes at half when Kimmorley was injured and vice versa, but a real test will be when Dykes comes back from injury and they are the halves combination because they have such contrasting styles. In the past we have seen Dykes not play his best football with Kimmorley in the side and they will hardly drop their captain.
