Yeah, Melbourne - the sporting capital of the world. 8-)

Haven't got the intellectual capacity to be interested in more than one footy code. :p
I think it is (described by a rugby fan based in Melbourne):

1/ AFL
2/ As above
3/ As above
4/ As above
5/ Football/soccer
6/ NRL
7/ Rugby union (which hardly even rates a mention)

Believe me I have heard all suggestions to get more people to the games, from promotions in Burke St mall, to free tickets, to if all else fails topless cheerleaders on a Saturday night game :naughty:

And if that doesn't work then AFL fans in Melbourne would have to be gay.

I think Sydney is more accepting of other sports. There was always an interest in the VFL, even before South Melbourne relocated to Sydney. However, rugby league even nowadays is getting near to no coverage in Melbourne. I think the time will come in the next 3-5 years when the NRL will have to abandon ship if there is no improvement.
More so by News Ltd?

I think Victorians, for some bizarre reason, consider rugby league to be some sort of grievous threat to aussie rules, and hence treat it with extreme hostility. They're not so worried about soccer because that's what all the foreigners (ie. to them, not real aussies) are into.

Is Tony Martin still interested in playing for New Zealand but I don't think he is eligible yet, or I think his wife is a Kiwi so that I think qualifys him.

Just watching classic matches on Sky - Raiders v Warriors 02 Final Series

How good was Ivan Cleary in 2002? Highly underrated player IMO. How good was Jones in 2002? How good were the Warriors in 2002?

Big league have allocated the Roosters nsw country otherwise they would only have Ryan cross.
Melbourne have no juniors so have been allocated queensland country.
They also state that Manly's catchment takes in the central coast as well as the northern beaches.
