Smith will get the job, Farah will be in the squad but smith will be #1
how is there room for two specialist hookers? Smith is 100% going to be there, Berrigan is almost a certainty too given his form and versatility. Also whichever two halfbacks out of Orford, Cronk, Gower and Thurston is picked can fill in there. If we had a 30 man squad then yes, two hookers would be picked...

They'll pick Ryles I reckon.
possibly, comes down to the fact there might not be room, theres Price, Civoniceva, Mason, Bailey, O'Meley who are definitley in front of him. If Dragons win the comp and Ryles keeps up his form then hes some chance...

Kite maybe an outside chance ??
yeh hes a real chance i feel, a lot depends on the use of Mason, if hes viewed as a prop Kite would probably miss out, if hes gonna back in the 2nd Row then someone like Kite would make it. Personally i think Mason will be starting at prop...

I think that Gower and Thurston will be the two halfback picked. Hornby should also be a good chance for the Berrigan spot due to his form and versatility. Kite is likely to just miss out, due to the large number of quality front rowers, but maybe due to the age of the others, then him may just find a spot, if they look for youth.

given the team picked for the Prime Ministers XIII today it would be a safe bet to say Gower and Thurston will be picked, if as expected Berrigan and Cam Smith are also selected that leaves Farah with next to no chance of being chosen...

I dont see how that ensures Gower/Thurston a spot.. I mean who else is really available to fit into the PM's XIII spot??

As for Farah i expect him to be in the squad.. Stuart has a huge opinion on him and i think he wants him in the side..

sure hes a huge talent, but tell me how are we going to fit him in. You keep saying he will be picked but the numbers just dont add up, do you suggest we only pick one halfback?

Then to go with that idea if said one half back gets injured that would ensure Cam Smith would get picked there or Berrigan I believe has played half before (played so many positions I've lost count).

I guess it will be Thurston and whoever else, if Melbourne win the comp then I think Cooper Cronk (how bogan is that name?) will get the spot.

With the amount of players in the train-on squad who can play numerous positions i think thats how he will get in.. Yes Berrigan can play numerous positions, BUT there are only 2 which he would be test class.. Hooker and Centre and IMO he isnt needed in the centres and there is no doubt Farah is a better hooker..

If we are picking a 23 man squad...

There would be 11 backs and 12 forwards... Most of the Backs can play 2 positions, fullback/wing, wing/centre, Fullback/Centre, 5/8/half... Thats why i feel he will get a spot...

 Very, i thought the same myself.. he's a good player though!!!

Actually his name reminds me a bit of a bloke who used to race in the V8 Supercars due to it's "boganess". Dougal McDougall <------ how bogan is that!!!

In anycase, Smith should by rights get the Jumper over Farah, you don't win the Dally M by doing nothing!!!

I've never said Farah would be starting hooker, Smith should be... But i think Farah should be in the squad..

Jetstar will be the new sponsor of the Gold Coast Titans next year, so that has obviously sorted out the flying arrangements.

Was there a Dally M team of the year (best players from each position based on Dally M votes) announced/picked this year ??

Good to see Schifoske got some acknowledgement... he was brilliant this year for the Raiders... a shame to see him go to union really...

Found this on another forum, Found it pretty funny..

A comparison of NRL footy teams to their female equivalent

Melbourne Storm - Delta Goodrem. Tidy, attractive, professional and uncontroversial. Nice to look at, but for some reason just makes you want to yawn.

St George Illawarra Dragons - Elle MacPherson. Past her glorious best but still easy on the eye and an old favourite with most.

Souths Rabbitohs - Whitney Houston. Has not looked after herself in recent years and has gone completely off the rails.

Sydney Roosters - Amelie Mauresmo.! Last woman on Earth scenario : you still wouldn't.

Parramatta Eels - Katie Holmes. Has a certifiable psycho in charge of her every move. Has lost credibility in recent times.

Wests Tigers - Britney Spears. At times can look stunning, at others it can get ugly.

Canterbury Bulldogs - Christina Aguilera. Looks like she enjoys it rough and dirty.

NZ Warriors - Paris Hilton. Lays down way too easily.

Canberra Raiders - Princess Diana. May be a blue blood, but hasn't done anything for a while.

Brisbane Broncos - Madonna. Also past her glorious best, but refuses to accept it gracefully.

Cronulla Sharks - Jenna Jamieson. Can cop a pounding and keep coming back for more.

Penrith Panthers - Krystal from Big Brother. Has the biggest and best assets going around, but we all know they're not the real deal.

North Queensland Cowboys - J-Lo. Quality all over, but especially good down back.

Newcastle Knights - Kylie Minogue. Very decent despite not having much up front.

Gold Coast Titans - The Olsen Twins. Not ready to go yet but shaping quite well.

Manly Sea Eagles - Rikki Lake. Everyone used to hate her but now she is met with little more than indifference.
