I don't get what all this fuss is about. Sure, Collingwood are the biggest team in Victoria and Mebourne are the only team in Victoria, but they've been scheduled to be like that for weeks now, it's just bad luck really. Stop making such a ridiculous self-righteous deal out of nothing.
I'm not much of a rugby fan, but the NRL are doing themselves no favours with their scheduling. That's all i'm trying to say.

Brisbane or the Storm for the premiership. Both teams have exactly what it takes to win in Finals. Bulldogs have too many injuries and the Dragons are mentally weak.

Well it has always been the case since the finals system came in, and in the case of the TV schedulers, they have to plan 5 weeks out,so it is not as though they can predict what is going to happen and bend over for the AFL.

IMO I see people like Fien who know he won't have much opportunity of playing Origin anytime soon, if ever, and use the fact that he has NZ hertiage as a golden ticket to rep footy. I could be wrong with him, but I do sense this a predicent (sp) happening...

Good on Smith, he deserved it. We're very lucky to have both Buderus and Smith in Australia, by far the 2 best hookers in the world.

TBH i would not be overly surprised to see it happen...

Perfect chance for Wayne to rub it into Ricky's face...

What would even be funnier, would be Ricky being appointed as the Broncos new coach LOL

Cameron Smith has come out in today's paper to tell Titans Managing Director Michael Searle to give him a call in a fewyears time when his Storm contract runs out because he would be interested in joining so he can be closer to home and to rub it in Brisbane's faces for being too slow in not signing him up.

He doesn't have to wait until his contract runs out now with the anti-tampering deadline abolished.

Yeah I was thinking that myself.

I guess clubs will start negotiating a year or two out of their stars contracts. Losing Smith for Melbourne would be similar to that of Thurston for the Cowboys or Lockyer for Brisbane IMO. Or even Gower for Penrith.

i dont think we'll see clubs sign people any more than a year before their contract runs out, its too risky with things like form and injuries.
can u imagine someone coming in this time last year and giving Tim Smith a 500k a year contract to start in 2007, they'd look pretty silly right now...
