People who use population logic would be the first one to accuse BCCI of bullying when BCCI uses same logic to demand higher share of revenue from ICC

And most of the India's cricketers are from 2 to 3 regions. Give Delhi or Mumbai Ranji team sufficient international exposure they would regularly start beating sides like SL, Bangladesh
Lol Sri Lanka good 75% players are based in Colombo and Kandy.

If India used it's resources properly, then India, India A and India B would be the three strongest teams in the world.

Having said that, it's a minor miracle that a county of a billion odd people with hundreds of dialects, ethnicities, cultures, and centuries of politics and history still somehow manages to function all as one, so can't expect too much from the cricket infrastructure.

Lol at Randycricfreak being so excited about beating an India C team in a meaningless T20 tho. I guess you take what you can get as a SL cricket fan nowdays.
I wasn't excited. It was more to do with someone here saying that an Indian U17 team would be enough to beat SL team.

Keep these gems coming.

We have always punched above to the best of our abilities.I hope you remember back in 96, when we beat India in Kolkata in the SF, and the spectators went all rowdy and almost burnt the stadium down.

By the way SL needed only 14 years to win a WC.

Completely crazy statement by whoever gave it, nothing more than U14 is really needed.

On a very slightly serious note, SL needed about a 100 years to actually form a proper competitive team, and then 14 more to win a WC, just because your team wasn't good enough to actually get recognized by ICC doesn't mean those years are not counted.

On a fully serious note, Why so serious? It's a meaningless series and it barely matters who wins. It's just a fact that India are a better team than SL at the moment and are missing lots of key players, why get all angry at some light-hearted jibes.

Worst tour thread in recent memory.

But then again, it's a T20 series featuring a B-side and two sides with chips on their shoulders.

Well obviously people who said that weren't serious.

I am not too sure what the rest of the post has to do with anything. It's common knowledge SL has done well for a small nation.

At the end of the day no one cares if SL punched above their weight or something..surely as a fan what you'd want is for SL to be consistent against the bigger teams and their first XI's. No point having a chip on your shoulder. And having to mark each comment about the team with an *

What does England have to do with it?
Simply pointing the relevance of the post about the time taken for SL to win a major competitor is up there with a lot of bigger cricketing nations( which I believe was the point trying to be made)
@daemon- it wasn't a criticism of England, just highlighting that the record of SL isn't that bad..

I still don't get the relevance of England to anything in this unless you're targeting my nationality?

i'm not sure why you're saying that, as England is where is live so why would I target your nationality? ( or anyone else's for that matter). I suppose the reason I mentioned England is because its where I live and know about in terms of cricket and the fact that if our record is comparable in terms of tournament wins with the country that started cricket , then we aren't doing too bad?

Seeing as India only needed 8 that's a pretty poor attempt at bragging.
Laughed out loud in office on seeing this comment.
Pretty much sums up your Ridiculous cricket knowledge buddy.

This is why English should stick to Footy,
And the Indians to stick with that game they play with sticks on a synthetic track passing the ball here and there.

I was talking about the time that SL took to win a WC from the time it received it's test status. We received test status in 1982, and won a WC in 1996.Was a pretty mean side back then.

Well India made it's test debut in 1950s
