Shows the man has great versatility - good on him I say!

Anyway 84-4 now - only the tail left after these 2 (AA 's in at 8...)

What? To score at 27 runs per 100 balls even though the match is only supposed to last 3 days then gets out playing a wild shot? And since in 3-5 day cricket he scores at this rate normally, so I don't think he's showing any versatility. Judging by the collapse I'm not sure if him getting out was as great for India as it was for me

93 for 4. Ganguly and Laxman last remaining hopes. Hope they come good so that the Indians can start the tour on a +ve note.

Remember guys, India played Central Districts on their last tour of New Zealand and India lost!

Does anyone know why Jacob Oram isn't playing?

Rik no offence but can't you just appreciate Bangar for the honest trier that he is? He's not super talented, he's not a Tendulkar or a Lara or a Hayden. He knows that he's not the greatest of players but he still tries. Admittedly though, his strike rate needs some improving. I say this because he bats for long periods and then gets stuck in defensive mode and gets himself out. He needs to be able to shift gears.

Don't worry I'm just joking  don't take it so seriously! I was just thinking though that if he's scoring 27 runs per 100 balls against a supposivly weak District team then what's he going to do in the Tests? Anyway I feel he is way-over rated and it's nice to be proved right

The Central District's bowling attack is one of the best in NZ, it's their batting which lets them down..which you may see when they bat against India.

Michael Mason, Lance Hamilton, Andrew Schwass & Brent Hefford are all in-line for NZ selection in the future.
But the flip-side is that really only Sinclair has a decent batting average for them.

and now its 137/5...Laxman loses patience to some excellent bowling by Hamilton & India looking slightly embarassed but in no means out of the game as yet..I mean you haven't seen a collapse until you've seen C.D have a go first.

Yeah check this out, The 4 quicks used by CD in this match:

Andrew Schwass 68 Wickets @ 17.64 :O:O:O
Lance Hamilton 123 Wickets @ 21.55
Brent Hefford 49 Wickets @ 20.32
Michael Mason 92 Wickets @ 25.61

Impressive.

Schwass gets Patel C & B, so its likely now that Central will get a bat..i'd really like to see Sinclair get some runs.

Good point. Anyway you NZers got anything on Schwass? I know he started the game late but he looks quite a bowler.

good question...

Well Craig Spearman is there, but don't rely on him too much.

They've got Sulzberger who really isn't a #4 batsman at all. He could chip in with a few & Jamie How a former NZ U19 captain who's another i'd like to see get some runs along with Sinclair.

They've obviously lost Oram who's been their form batsman so far this season.

Is Spearman going to play for Gloustershire next season? Is he playing for CD as the overseas player? He did rather well in England though...

Yeah Schwass is no more than a medium fast bowler..umm probably similar to that of Craig White.

To be honest i've only seen Schwass bowl a couple of times & im not sure what he does to have such a great bowling record..last season he got 49 wickets at an average of 11 if you can believe it. So he must have a special way of getting wickets, thats for sure.
