A tougher bowling opposition and we might see India struggling. Still though one would expect the likes of Tendulkar and Dravid to cash in heavily...interesting series and will have serious implications on the World cup vows of both sides !
Your theory is correct especially outside India. It is also true that good pace attacks in helpful conditions can break the back of the Indian batting. Luckily Cairns doesn't look like being there for the tests. He had been a big tormentor of the Indians in the past with both ball and bat. Do you know who are the other pacemen who will partner Bond against India? Vettori is a very good bowler, but I don't know how effective he will be against India.

Among the Indian bowlers, the only people I have slight hopes on are Khan, Harb and Karthik. The others look like they are there just to make up the numbers.

If Bond continues to bowl like he did against Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, in conditions that were no good for swing..then we won't really need to worry about who's partnering with him.

But still, I heard that the front-runners are Tuffey & Butler.

What about Dion Nash? Has he retired?
Serious Back Injury then he got suspended for bad behaviour...maybe one of our NZ members can fill in some more...

I believe his name was changed in some newspapers to "Doin' Hash" as a result of his misdemeanour?

Yeah Dion retired due to constant back injuries & then he basically ended any chance of making a comeback by slamming the NZ cricket board during the pay disputes.

If he had been an Englishman he would have been a Fireman I think :lol::lol:

Super Max International has started

NZ 92/2 as we speak, Yohannan is bowling well, McMillan is carding the ball, and so is Cairns.

Oh......exciting stuff!

India got a lead of 10... beautiful batting mr tendulkar.
nz have started their second innings in mediocre fashion, but a couple of big overs can change the game...

Well NZ has won. An impressive fielding performance- well bowled Andre, and paul hitchcock (terrible last name isnt it).[font]

Quite an enjoyable match & well supported by the people of Christchurch on a cold night.

I think the experience of the NZ bowlers in max cricket shone through in the last 5 overs of India's 2nd innings. Adams & Hitchcock will no doubt be front-runners for a starting spot in the ODI team.

For me, it looks a far better alternative to the 20 over dross we're going to served up.

Allows a bit of flexible captaincy re: bowlers, and also the fans get the chance to see the main draws (such as your Sachins and Virenders) bat twice, so even if they fail once you get it again.

Mind you, I bet England's first game in it will result in an Innings loss!

I was pleased with the way the NZ bowlers handled Sehwag. Despite letting Tendulkar loose in the 1st Innings, they didn't let them get out of control twice which was to good to see.

To be honest..after NZ capitulated in their 2nd innings with only help coming from Brendon McCullum I thought with India's batting lineup would coast it, but credit to Adams, Bond & Hitchcock who bowled very well.

It isn't really like power cricket at all. There is one zone on the field where you get double the runs- this is called the MAX zone. This zone is straight down the ground from the circle to the boundary- so it encourages good cricket shots, vertical bat shots.
Power cricket is more like glorified backyard cricket isnt it?
