yeah it is extremely quiet considering there are 5 other members viewing this thread. . . um yep was a sportychic today. . played cricket in the morning. . which finished at 11 (we got thrashed) then went to the gym and came home in time to watch cricket. .. then after the cricket tonight am going to watch a bit of super 12.
Good effort, (apart from the thrashing). I can't get excited about the Super 12 yet. Tried to watch both games last night but couldn't really get into it. I'm playing cricket tomorrow.

A raised hand or an apology would have been nice.

When was the last time you saw even that from an international quick?

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice, I just don't see it happening irrespective of the nationality of name of the bowler.

the thrashing was embarassing (i got run out for a duck after playing a great shot and the other girl didn't run and there was a run there!!). yeah i tried to watch the games last night but fell asleep, probably will watch the hurricanes game tonight though. .

That's not right. Most bowlers will apologise or at least make sure the batsman is OK except for Lee these days. Maybe back in the days of Thommo and Lillee it was a different story but Lee is just a baby and a poor sport. His deliberate beamer to Razzaq proved that.

nice batting by astle. . marshall seems to be taking a while to keep going. . though since lee has finished his spell, i think the kiwis will start to loosen up a bit.

Astle looking a bit better than he did in the last game when he looked out of touch but Marshall 1 is looking all business as usual

Richard should be watching and/or listening to the commentators about Lee ..... nah, he'd still say a guy from Wangarata 3rd X1 is a better bowler because he is infinitely more accurate 8-)

BTW, Lee's a fast bowler. His job, amongst other things, is to intimidate.

It was more than sufficient that other Aussies showed concern.

Finally, go the Waratahs - which they will do until falling in a screaming heap at the business end of the season.

Thommo made any number of comments about wanting blood on the pitch...lets concede he was an extreme case :)

That said, I can't really think of any bowlers who have done such things..although thankfully it doesn't happen that often and I'll happily grant that I don't watch out for what everyone does when it does happen. Myabe you're right, but I think your dislike of Lee is clouding your judgement.

Sorry if this is a little off topic but my team thrashed Paraparamu first XI today. We made 219 and then bowled them out for 28 in 10 overs (50 over games). Absolutly classic.

Crusaders v.s. Brumbies will be a decent game.

I think NZ can win this one if they bat sensibly

You beat my side last night but you'll win your 1st 4 or 5 games and then the wheels will fall off as usual. :D
Nothing wrong with being intimidating but not apologising when you've hit the batsman and bowling beamers is not really cricket. I've never liked him though mainly bacause of his celebrations when he takes a wicket. Even if it's a No.11 he makes a goose of himself.

I'm really looking forward to Lee v. Papps, especially on any surface that is remotely quick. Trust me, there will be several Proteas (who completely rubbished Papps when they were here) watching the highlights and fully expecting to see cricket's version of a car accident.
Two 'car accidents' in 8 balls! On an Eden Park pitch!

Those Proteas were right all along it seems - it's not just Papps' head that's been dented but also his future as an international player IMO. The prospect of him on a fast South African test wicket next spring is just scary.

You want someone to apologize for something they meant to do? lol
Yes. So if he'd killed him does that mean he would just walk back to his mark because he was trying to hit him in head.

He never meant to kill him, just hit him and shake him up. Mission accomplished

James Marshall will probably do pretty good and maybe Papps if he comes out again it should get close hopefully
