I was thinking around 240-250 would be the target from here.

That said, I've got no idea how it's going...only got cricinfo and this forum to go by. ( thats why this aussie isn't saying much ).

They're bowling Macca out!? Whatever happened to finishing up with Mills, Cairns, Mills, Cairns, Mills!? We have wicket takers, let them take wickets! Grrr.

EDIT: And nine off the over. Stupid move, in my opinion. Mills has the second best eco rate of the lot, and he's had an over wasted.

These 2 have summed up the situation and have paced both their own and the team innings pretty well I must say. I knew Clarke was a class act but Hussey has impressed me.

KD Mills 8-0-45-1 (1w 3nb)

What's with all the noballs today?. As if the wides aren't bad enough. Great fightback from Clarke and Hussey in saying that. 264 is a challenging total but....no G. McGrath so game on.

Great work by Cairns and Vettori, and also by Katich, Hussey and Clarke. Hussey in particular has answered the critics of his selection very well indeed.

Without McGrath it should be an interesting finish, but I'd back Australia with Lee in top form to defend 264.

selectors were so stupid putting tuffy in.. it was so obvious even before the game he was gonna suck :/

But knowing our selectors they will prolly praise him and put him in again for the next game! :P

No chance of Tuffey playing the next game. He's got the yips and needs to be told to go back to ND for a while.

Seeing NZ's batting against Aus in the first 2 games, I don't think we have to good a chance.
I'm still pretty confident. Not having to deal with McGarth has to help.

Nice recovery there to get to 264, although if you had told me that would be the total at the 25 over mark I would have been a bit disappointed.

Lets see how NZ bats ( and Aus bowls ), but I can see this going either way.

Will be very interesting to see how Papps and J Marshall handle their return to the side and debut (respectively). Also, let's hope that we can once again thank God for the rotation of bowlers in Aussie, because God knows our chances are a hell of a lot better with McGrath gone and Kaspa (whee!) in!

But I think I might be off to snooze. :( 4:35am and I'm dead.

Who agree's that someone should replace Tuffey and give Tuffey time to work on his bowling. If NZ loses this match the next 2 matches would be perfect to try out new bowlers.

Everyone (except Aussie) I think

so if we apply the same philosohpy of dropping tuffey because of bad bowling, shouldn't we be dropping fleming for his batting this series???

No, because he's arguably the best captain in the world, and a great slip fielder to boot.
