Maybe offensive was too strong a word but it does show that they think it's in the bag.
You're supposed to be on my side anyway.

This is interesting...so the batting lineup would beJames said:I heard on Radio Sport yesterday that odds are for Papps to replace Wilson and J Marshall to replace Tuffey and NZ to use Astle as the 5th bowler.
Seems a good move to me to go in with a batsmen heavy lineup.

So the top-scorer from game 2 is at 9. Very batsmen heavy. But as long as the bowlers do the job that's not a bad thing.
If Astle does get taken to, we could have a problem considering McMillan's often wayward approach. Admittedly, he has bowled fairly well in the State Shield, so taking eight specialist batsmen, as well as Vettori, Adams and Mills certainly makes the batting side of the equation look very powerful and will probably be our best chance of beating the Australians.Fiery said:I'd be happy with that line-up. The two main run-bleeders given a rest and Astle hardly ever gets taken to. Two Marshall's in the field is an added bonus.
I'd prefer Fleming and Astle to open anyway, for the experience they should bring. Hopefully Papps will manage to score a few though and prove the selectors right._Ed_ said:I think I heard Bracewell say he wanted Fleming & Astle opening, not sure though.

Well it's a very respectable record:_Ed_ said:Papps does average over 50 in ODIs so he has shown that he has the ability to score runs at that level.
I suppose his innings of 92* against South Africa at Napier would've helped get the average up to 50, but hopefully he'll be able to continue on with the form he showed in that series.M I NO Runs HS Ave SR 100 50 Ct St

Why?Ming said:Adams is out of the game.
Think they said on the news he was out through illness. Vincent has been brought in to the squad but only as backup apparently.Fiery said:Why?
I guess Wilson will get a chance to redeem himself. Good for him. I thought they would have brought in a bowler as back-up given that the team looks heavy on batsmen already. Strange to bring in Vincent._Ed_ said:Think they said on the news he was out through illness. Vincent has been brought in to the squad but only as backup apparently.
Yeah, I think you are the only oneArrow said:Am i the only person who finds the wilson thing hilarious??
Are NZ so hard up for talent they need to call up a rugby player who is a decade past his never really good to begin with prime? loll
