NZ doing alrite here.. 109/2

I am amazed at the lack of people talking about this game today.

It's good, solid cricket... very entertaining to watch; but there's not a lot to talk about...

Wow!! Warney's ball to Fleming!! I reckon it's one of those that Hawkeye would have said was hitting... but you can't really fault Umpire Lloyd for saying not out.

TBH I would have been extremelly annoyed if that had have been an Australian batsman instead of a kiwi.. It was plumb IMO and a lucky escape for Fleming

I bet next time a close LBW shout goes up off Warnes bowling Lloyd gives it though.. the way Warney reacted when it wasn't given will have put doubt into Lloyds mind IMO..

I am really enjoying the days play so far.. it will be interesting to see as the test progresses how low and slow the pitch gets

Pretty lifeless pitch here. Very disappointing to go through a whole tour of New Zealand without having one decent wicket.

Anyway, New Zealand are doing well. A big letoff for Fleming before on a plumb lbw, but aside from that they've gone about things pretty well and kept the Australians out. McGrath bowling beautifully, but Gillespie and Kasprowicz aren't looking particularly lethal.

Yeah they are good points there... but I'm just thinking that from the umpires view, you can see why there was enough doubt to give it not out having seen it only once. It certainly did look VERY lucky for Fleming on replay though.

Hamish seems to look better every time i see him, he could be something special this kid. The kiwis are looking pretty good so far but it not the forst time this test series they won the honours on the first day. Hamish just got as i write this. whoops

Marshall gone for 76, caught in close, bat-and-pad.

Edit: No, wait; it's LBW. I think.
The scorers originally gave it out caught. Lloyd signalled LBW to them, but it's obvious on replay that Marshall hit the cover off it!

Either way, he's out, and he should be.
